I think I'd still have wanted to steer clear of them, @Hostafan1.  But perhaps Hitler would have been a better example of someone unlikeable but with character...
JP had just written a biography of Ian Fleming and they got in touch with him and said "can you do ours?"  His first reaction was " are you sure?"
It was his biography , The profession of violence" which was used as the basis of the fairly recent film starring the Kemp brothers.

There is a "France Rurale" in Périgueux too @Obelixx

I've been having a very lazy day, meant to start a new bed for my roses that are heeled in in the vegetable garden. I've ordered a rose arch though.

    Hi folks, nice work @Chicky
Must say I'm not keen on donkeys either as we once lived near one who brayed all day long, especially early in the morning - a real pain.
I'm still one of the achy ones, went for a short walk this morning to see if that would help loosen up but regretted it once I'd got back. I don't think I'm at all fit either which probably doesn't help.
I've been trying to do paperwork filing but it's deadly boring  so I've given up. I have however managed to find out how to transfer my specialist family history files onto a USB stick. 27 done just 17 left to do. Also very tedious. I'm very fed up today.

    Afternoon forkers.

I have been in bed most of the day - vaccine side effects. Don’t want to speak too soon, but starting to feel better. Headache was awful this time round - I don’t think I could have gone to work. Anyway - very grateful to be in the second jab gang.

Well its gloomy, wet and windy out so I haven’t missed a day in the garden at least.

I see Charles has visited his father in hospital... might be my nurse-brain but that doesn’t sound good.

    Hope you are all ok.

Well that feels better 😀😀😀. A full day in the garden, stopping only for my zoom lecture (doubled as my lunch break) and only just in now .....5.30 and its still plenty light for gardening 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.  Cut down all the raspberry canes and weeded that bed.  Dug and barrowed loads of soil from one overflowing raised bed to two others where the levels are a bit low, and then raked it all level.  Some more barrowing to do tomorrow, and then we are ready to lay the gravel paths ....more barrowing.  The end is in sight 🤓

Waiting for our water to heat up to have a shower and get scrubbed up ready for our family zoom call - a Saturday night lockdown fixture 🥳🤪

Sorry you’ve been feeling rough after this jab @AuntyRach 🤒.  Still waiting patiently for word of Mr C’s.
  • Sorry to hear about your reaction to   2and jab @AuntyRach. Hope it improves soon.  At least you know your immune system is working. 🙂

I hope tomorrow is a better day @AuntyRach.
Well done @chicky, I've done nothing outside, apart from hang up washing, but I did get around to dusting the sitting room.

I have just been checking out the Moonflower on the webcam too @AuntyRach it's beautiful.
Meant to say your cross stitch is beautiful @Chicky.  I've got one all ready to start on the frame, even ordered all the required thread but can't seem to get in the mood for starting it.  I've been really fed up today.  No reason, except for not being able to get in the garden due to the weather.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
I love donkeys. Used to visit the ones at Bodenham Arboretum regularly and I'm always seeking out donkey sanctuaries when we are away. Snakes on the othe hand are a totally different kettle of fish.  Even photos of them terrify me.

Well, amazing day, weather wise.  Dogs on beach early, a couple of hours in the garden, treated ourselves to some plants and shrubs, sowed some more tomatoes.
