  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
I was woken just after 4
by what sounded like thunder but was actually a fierce north wind ... there was no snow then but it was nasty out there ... I popped downstairs and popped the central heating on early and made a decaf and brought it back to bed. OH was sound asleep so I read for a bit and then snuggled down and went back to sleep with my dressing gown still on. We woke around 8 and the world is full of white powdery snow swirling around in the howling wind just as you see in films of Arctic exploration. Despite this OH is determined to pop down the road to pick up my prescription and some green leafy veg and ‘interesting cheese’ as soon as they open, reasoning that it’ll be worse if he leaves it until later and anyway not many Covidiots will be out in this weather. Good job he’s got lots of warm woolly jumpers and hats 😉

Well excuse me for not joining you in the garden @Biglad, the wind is blowing the snow in all directions here!!
@Dovefromabove, I was going to say your OH is crazy,  but then you said it was for interesting cheese 🧀 so I understand its an essential trip!!

    Hi @Biglad,

Love your pots .... but just a thought.
It looks as if they could be made from concrete/cement which is alkaline.
If the pots are for any plants that need acidic conditions they won't like it .... you might need to use some sort of inner pot.

🤣 yup and step womble was brought up in the same tradition!! @Dovefromabove
  • We've not got snow here, in fact yesterday we had a sandstorm apparently from the Sahara desert, funnily enough I had finally got around to washing my car, bit of a waste of time it turned out as it got very dirty vey quickly. @Busy-Lizzie mentioned yellow sky yesterday too so presumably had it too.  :open_mouth:

  • We have been watching the bird activity since I put the mealworms out. They obviously think the snow is coming as it's been frenetic out there.  At the moment we have those tiny little grains coming down but they are melting instantly.
    Stay warm and safe.

Brrr. Rather you than us. Mind you, we got very hot today and had to stop work. Looks like neither of can win.
