Just popped in to say hello following my winter hibernation!

I hope everyone on here is keeping safe and well.

I'm looking forward to another growing season, there's lots of things to improve in the garden and I haven't a clue how to do it, so I expect you'll be seeing plenty of me!!
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

Good morning all  :) ☕☕☕  Glad youve got plenty of rain @Pat E :D

We got up early to do my NHS Covid home swab test before 8am ... it's in the fridge waiting for the courier to arrive before 11.52am.  Golly gosh my eyes are still watering. The questionnaire afterwards wanted to know my height and weight so I had to weigh myself ... not something I do often ... I've lost half a stone without trying 😇👍

I don't usually watch rugby on tv ... athletics are my thing as son used to compete and I've sat on the sidelines at so many training sessions ... but I'm feeling that I may try watching some of the Six Nations ... just for a bit of adrenalin ...

Good to see you @latimer :)

  • Morning all, dull & wet again here,  just put out the mealworms.  We have a growing army of blue and great tits, that swoop in for them as soon as I get back inside. We don't leave a feeder of them as the squirrels just get them otherwise.

  • Good morning @Pat E, @AuntyRach and @Latimer,

    Glad you're getting some rain @Pat E.

I might be having my 1st glass of wine this year @AuntyRach, but definitely not snacks, I have lost 1.3kg this week so very pleased, but still another couple to go so just the one glass.

Nice to meet you @Latimer, always something to improve in the garden but we love trying don't we.

I have so many seeds on the go I am losing track and am desperately short of potting up pots as I had a good clear out early last spring thinking I'd never have time to grow so many - pre Covid obviously. :(

Rain forecast all weekend so not quite sure what I can get done, although just shuffling seeds around to get the best light is time consuming enough.

    Morning all,

Work means I'm dropping in sporadically and lose track whilst speed-skimming. @D0rdogne_Damsel Was it you who recently acquired a foam roller? I'm a big advocate. For all they look like a poor attempt at a modern-day torture weapon, mine really hits the spot :)

Really wet overnight so my day off in the garden is canned. Looks like some grim stuff on the way as well. Batten the hatches folks!

  • Morning @Biglad, nice to see you.

Yes, I have got a foam roller, mixed feelings about it at the moment. On the bits that I can bear I can really feel the benefit, however, some of the muscles are so sensitive I can only bear a couple of rolls, not sure if this is 'normal' or not. I have been doing lots of stretches, a little bit of yoga, just hoping it'll get better. Started running again this week, steady away, but after 4 miles the other day (walk/run) really felt invigorated and could feel my rhythm coming back.

Shame you've missed your gardening moment, don't be working too hard, it's not good for you! :)

Morning @Allotment Boy can I ask are your mealworms dried, my birds don't seem to be over keen?

Likewise @D0rdogne_Damsel! Keep up the foam rolling, it definitely gets easier and less painful. The first few times are agonising. A bit like the running!!
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.
  • That's good to hear @Latimer. I was following a lady on Youtube but she was obviously a 'hardened' roller, left me feeling quite inadequate.
