With the extortionate amount charged for funerals, I would expect a more professional attitude from the undertaker. They might privately consider their job to be akin to a working on a production line, but surely they are paid enough to keep that to themselves.

Very fair comments B3.  We were surprised by the fact that he didn't use the name of the person, maybe he couldn't remember because of the production line way of operating.

He should have made the effort to find out.
I wouldn't expect someone to ask me that at the dentist's, never mind at a funeral
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I would have been annoyed at the funeral directors, but then I'm old skool,(know the patients name,a bit about them) me,I've had a brainwave. Big debate ever year about where to put the tree, small open plan bungalow,it's like planning The Great Escape! Just done my workout, said let's use the summer house. I'm not talking plastic blow up Santa's. More fake snow, deer, real greenery.any additional idea welcome

I'm no fan of the compensation culture but as we pay through the nose for leccy and gas I'll make an exception in this case.  I found this regarding the amount of compensation which may be due.

    Severe weather

The electricity distribution companies have 24 hours to restore electricity supply if it fails due to a storm.

If not, £70 should be paid to customers, with a further £70 to be paid for each additional period of 12 hours in which supply is not restored, up to a cap of £700.

For a severe storm, the amount you receive will be the same but won’t start until you’ve had 48 hours without power."
