Morning all. Cute red squirrel @D0rdogne_Damsel. Frosty here too. It was -4° in the night.
Thank you @tuikowhai34, but so far I haven't been able to get on a doctor's list. Apparently I must wait until I'm ill. I haven't been ill for 4 or 5 years, when I had bronchitis. Ameli sent me a code number to get onto their site some time ago, but it didn't work. I do have a green card though.
We are going to Leroy Merlin to get some temporary lampshades for ceiling lights which have bare bulbs, until I decide what light fittings to buy. Will look at some other things while we are there. Big DIY and gardening place.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hi @Pat E happy Australia day , as ever happy to share my Birthday with your great nation. Spent much of the last couple of days watching the antics of the birds at the feeders. Can't do much else in this weather. Did start another batch of sauerkraut yesterday , so lots of cabbage chopping!
Happy Birthday @Allotment Boy, a little virtual cake for you..🎂
I'm getting more and more addicted to watching the birds, they're so fascinating, definitely a hierarchy going on out there too. 😁
I'm now 'chief overseer' of workmen, aka chief coffee maker. 🙄 They are cracking on though. 😁 It does mean I'm stuck with only a laptop for entertainment, I feel some plant purchases coming on. 😊

Morning all, foggy wet start here today, sun is peeking through now but so cold and damp, agree with DD this has been the coldest winter for a long time. @Busy-Lizzie when I changed my GP practice a few years ago I made an appointment and she gave me a form/letter to send to CPAM that I was now at that practice, it really doesn't seem right that you have to wait until you are ill!
Who was it saying that their gas job was too powerful to simmer on? Was it @Busy-Lizzie? I’ve been meaning to say that I bought a diffuser plate to place over the flame and it does the job perfectly. You can get smarter ones from Neff etc, or cheap and cheerful ones from Amazon etc. Using mine now as a ragu is chuntering for spaghetti bolognese this evening.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Happy birthday @Allotment Boy, are you having a special dinner tonight?
We're rather anxious this morning about the cat we are looking after. He was violently sick four times last night and seems very subdued, not at all his usual bouncy self. I think he must have ate something outside but no idea what, does anybody know of any specific plants, apart from lilies, that are toxic to cats please? I'll ring the vets later if he doesn't pick up.
Hope your kitchen fitters crack on DD, how lovely to have a nice new kitchen for your business. Escape to the Country yesterday came from Norfolk Dove, Cromer looked good, I don't remember much about it now.
