Good morning all 😊 ☕️ We appear to be having a lie-in 😎 ☕️
Glad you’re sleeping ok @Busy-Lizzie 👍. Hope the wrist soon eases, but yes, give the younger ones some jobs 😉 We once had a wood burning stove for cooking ... we found we could control the heat to some extent by learning about the amount of heat produced by different types of log etc. and to bump the heat up we’d add a few good quality ‘wood briquettes’.

I was up for a couple of hours in the wee small ones, so did a bit of work. Really appreciated the OH shining the phone torch in my face at 8am asking if I was having a day off. It's like living with a Gestapo officer
Bit chilly out today - local motorways/major roads closed due to accidents caused by ice. Daughter hasn't set off to work yet. Not ideal during your first week but there's no point adding to the chaos.
Morning all frost here, after 2days of unrelenting rain, I was hoping for a brighter start than this. Oddly I didn't sleep that well last night no idea why, I don't usually have a problem.
Good morning. Bright and sunny here today so we'll be off to the beach for walkies after lunch. Still too wet and soggy to try any gardening.
Glad the move is going well @Busy-Lizzie but shame about your wrist. We could cook on our log burner I suppose but we don't usually light it often enough or eat many stews. Our nearest neighbours in Belgium often had a winter soup or casserole bubbling gently on theirs which was lit every day in winter as a prime source of heat. Old farmhouse and no CH.
Greeting to all Forkers and hugs as needed. Stay safe if you have to go out in icy bits.

Snowed solidly yesterday, ended up with about 6 inches. Everything then froze solid overnight and it now looks like a herd of elephants have been having horizontal fun. A few branches broken off, but I have been trying to clear as much off the shrubs as possible.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Good morning @punkdoc ... sounds pretty at least. Apparently our snow arrives tomorrow ... the certainty on my phone says 100% ... we shall see ⛄ Dont you overdo it tho ... you can join me on the sofa later ... we've got a stash of very old Columbo's to enjoy

Morning all, I didn't sleep very well last night either , woke up earlyish and then just ached all over, don't think I'm getting enough exercise and of course haven't been able to have my monthly massage which usually keeps me supple. Colder than I expected this morning when we went for our usual walk but is brightening up now. At least it is dry which is a blessing. Don't envy Punkdoc with all his snow. Daughter has a moving date of 25th and gets the keys next week so is frantically packing. Moving should be interesting as she has the typical cottage very narrow, very steep stairs with right angles both top and bottom. The new house is up on a hill with a very steep climb up to the front door as well. Thank goodness I'm not helping this time. You seem to be doing well @Busy-Lizzie but the wrist sounds very painful. @Biglad, my husband woke me up after he stayed up to see Whisky Galore on the tv, I was not very pleased either.
Afternoon folks. No snow here. Think we are going to miss it this time around. On second day of Gabriel watching and the aches and pains are kicking in it’s the constant picking up and running around after him. Did a supermarket run for Secondborn everybody was well behaved and their were tannoy announcements every few minutes re mask wearing. Would still have preferred to stay at home.
Sorry about your wrist @Busy-Lizzie hope it improves soon. Stay warm and safe folks.
