Afternoon folks, a bit warmer here than for some of you by the sound of it. A chilly wind though when we walked to the village earlier. I've done some washing, just waiting now for the tumble dryer to stop and then it's ironing time before Escape to the Country I think Hope Busy-Lizzie's move going okay, the grandsons give you a bit of peace Yviestevie and Hostafan finds some mojo soon. Not keen on woolly hats Dove, I've got a smashing pale pink fake fur twisted snood which keeps my ears and neck toasty, much needed this weather and much more glamourous.
Another walk this afternoon - not such a bright day, but I'm not gardening in this weather so walking is necessary to work off some Christmas calories... my hair is like yours, @Obelixx, and woolly hats don't stay on me either. Fleece-lined snood, wide hairband over my ears and hood up when it's frosty.
Thinking of @Busy-Lizzie - hope it's all going as well as can be expected.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Hello all. Internet went off this morning. Orange say there is a fault on the line. No surprise there, they didn't repair it when they came to put it back on the posts. I've just been to collect a thingy called an Airbox to give me Internet.
Only 2 removal men turned up, I was expecting 4. They haven't even started packing the kitchen and dining room yet. The packing would have been finished if there had been 4 of them. Tomorrow they are supposed to load up two vans, they can't use the big vans because of the drive, and then drive it to the new house. The owner rang to see how it was going and ask what time they would arrive. Removal man said he didn't know, maybe 2pm. The new house is about 70 minutes drive. They will do more delivering on Wednesday.
The lovely couple who helped load the skip one day came. They have been cleaning, doing a brilliant job. They aren't expensive, in fact I don't think they charge enough.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
They have just said they are delaying Stenders, glad that Only connect is still on as we record & watch at leisure, its the only way we can work out any of the answers at all. If we get more than 2 or 3 in the first 2 rounds we think we've done well, usually work out the walls though, but we couldn't do it in the time limit they have!
OH and I enjoy Monday quiz nights but Possum doesn't. OC can be irritating, especially VC's set piece monologues which are never funny but we like to have a go. Mastermind and UC are good too.
I'm just waiting for France to go into total lockdown again and back to venturing no further than 1km radius for walkies and limited shopping excursions. Need to check on Belgian rules too for getting Possum back tho I do think being here is doing her good and is certainly better for her than being stuck on her own again.
@Busy-Lizzie our chaps turned up as a 3-some plus the boss who came just to check all was well. He took one look at my kitchen cupboards and sent for his specialist crockery and glasses packer and extra specialist cartons. He'd under-estimated..... Got it all done and loaded tho, including plants. Lovely bunch.
@Liriodendron we're back on the 5:2 diet again here now and there will be more walkies too but not today - filthy day in the end and we actually had some snow!
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I love the connecting walls. I don’t always get them but if I do I feel pretty chuffed.
Right, time to grab a cuppa and catch up with Boris.
Go easy folks.
