  • Afternoon everyone,
Had a very lazy day today. Far too cold here to go for a walk.🥶
It snowed here this afternoon, very heavily but only settled for awhile.
Love the naughty elf story Hazel 🤣
And so pleased you could chat to your mum again.
Lillysilly, sounds like a lovely 'get together'
Having a roast for our meal tonight.
No new years resolutions here either.
Sorry minds gone blank, can't remember anything else 😫

Happy New Year everyone,  sitting in front of a roaring fire having eaten a wonderful roast lamb dinner cooked by Hubby.  We are half way through a bottle of proseco and have Ice cream or Christmas cake for pudding later.  Stay cosy everyone.

Love the Elf story Hazel. The thought of him plotting for a year in a cupboard is a tad eerie but with the fearless sloth by his side 23 will conquer all. Sweet dreams Hazel.
Lilysilly, a delightful description of the wild life in the garden. I intend to practice the 'twelve grapes before the last bong' all year. Have they to be swallowed singly or can you cram several in at a time? The cocktail sounds delicious. I reckon you get at least 2 of your 5 a day from that one. Has your daughter named it?
Its getting quite cold outside now - due to drop to -5°C. Glad I'm inside and keeping warm. Lily is curled up next to me.

I went back to read Hazels naughty elf story as l missed it earlier. 23 sounds a lovely little chap, l like how he tells off his elf.
We have a naughty elf in class called Elfie. It's tricky trying to think of something he can do that's mischievous in the confines of the classroom. The children loved it the most when we sat him fishing in one of their little toilets.
The walk was nice but bitterly cold and quite slippy underfoot with all our sticky Devon mud everywhere. The streams nearby are overflowing so the dog was kept firmly on her lead as she loves a paddle.
LB, the grapes are meant to be eaten one at a time, but Addy just crammed the last few in at the end. He's not even sure why it's a tradition, it's just something they do.
My daughter has named the new cocktail a Mucky Merlot as she reckons a few of those would make some folk talk dirty. Not very polite but as she has worked as a cocktail bartender during Uni she says the best cocktails have rude names!
  • LB,  we have spanish friends, Its a tradition, but also to do with suspicion. The 12 grapes are for the 12 months ahead for good luck.
  • Lilysilly, there are some rude named cocktails 🤭😉🤣🤣  they are nice 😉🤪
