@Helios Haha, yes sorry should have said that - correct, dogs - Fort Christmas is erected to stop the younger ones of our 5 basset hounds from destroying the tree! Its a sturdy dog pen slotted together as a fence and locked into the sides of the shelving units either side to prevent any mischief and redecorating..
@JessicaS Thank you! Basset hounds, especially young ones, and Christmas trees don’t make a good combination. Here’s hoping the construction continues to work😉😁
@Helios Hehe, I've done it the last few years (the first version wasnt strong enough and some fimo candy cane ornaments fell victim...) and they seem to have got used to the idea now thankfully and stopped testing the perimeter like velociraptors! Our cheeky male (#1 mischief maker) has also been distracted by more toys too, we only have to say "duck duck" and we have his full attention
Hi all. I love the difference in our tastes on this thread! Some traditional and lovely, and some modern and lovely too! Here is our tree, and also a shot from the street of our lights...
I'm not even sure that this chap was meant to be a Christmas decoration but he always gets pride of place sometimes even at the top of the tree with a light shoved up his fundament
My daughter would absolutely love that, @B3 - she's really big on both Christmas and rubber ducks
Feeling quite festive now - we've been on our doorstep singing with the neighbours (https://www.doorstepcarols.co.uk/ ). It was so nice we're thinking of doing it again on Christmas Eve.

Our street is doing a window Advent Calendar. I'll try to remember to post a collage or something once they're all done.
