Well, with wear and tear it'll be 60% off plus a penalty because the declared size of these buildings on the insurance contract is less than actual which is a bummer as we just took the estate agent's measurements for the policy.  12,000€ before penalty which we'll get regardless and 55,000€ to replace roofs.

Have to ask ourselves if it's going to be worth it and wait for written confirmation of final total.

We've had more downpours this pm and it is very soggy underfoot with puddles all over and the air feels damp - not good for knee and even my hips are starting to moan.   All enough to make a girl feel grumpy.

Gosh, Obelixx, that's a lot of money. I would imagine some large wooden structures would do the same job, although admittedly not as picturesque.
It's very wet and muddy here as well today. I've got my fencing chap coming tomorrow to put some steel mesh over our undercroft 'door' so I'm hoping it's going to be dry then.

@Dovefromabove, sorry, forgot to say earlier I do hope your brother continues to make good progress.
@AuntyRach, hope you enjoy your week off, well deserved I would think.

    Evening.

I managed to finish a bit early today.

Mixed fortunes from you guys today. With the miserable weather, miserable news and general un-festiveness - we all deserve something good this weekend, be it food, drink, good news message or something to bring a smile or laugh. I will kick that off with treating myself to a ginger wine 😋 cheers!

I have managed to get down the stairs and am celebrating with a Sipsmith VJOP.

@AuntyRach  Mmmm  With these chilly rainy days - a ginger wine - a little whisky - before bed - a whisky mac - way to go!!!

What?  Pollute ginger wine with whisky?  No way!

I did, once, try a recipe for chocolate cake with whisky but not good enough to repeat.  Prefer my marmalade neat so that leaves using whisky as a firelighter.

Well done for getting downstairs @punkdoc.

Many years ago I was working in a hotel in Aviemore over Xmas and was assigned as gopher to an old lady guest who arrived in an ancient chauffeur-driven Rover - a Mrs Robertson of the famous marmalade family. Her tipple of an evening was brandy & Crabbies green ginger which I thought sounded disgusting but eventually tried one and found it excellent. Just the thing for a cold Cairngorm night.

Cheers @AuntyRach, although I'm ahead of you, had a glass of Pinot earlier with dinner.
Cheers also to everybody else celebrating the end of the week.
