Sorry to hear about your fright @Rosie.b. I'm glad your dad is OK.
I'm off to pick up the boys from school/nursery this afternoon and stay over to look after them tomorrow.  Have a good day everyone.

Just heard a lovely story (well apart from the vaccine news). Jack the cat sitter rang me to say that his daughter had had a phone call from the vet in the village. A stray cay had been brought in and when they read the microchip and checked it had her details on it. A man had noticed the cat wandering around the local industrial estate and knew it wasn't feral so after a week of trying, he finally managed to catch the cat and bring it to the vet's. The thing is that this cat 'disappeared' 4 years ago. Jack's daughter was over the moon to get her back. She had two from the same litter. The one that has always been with her took one look at its sibling and fled! It has only been 3 days though so hopefully adjustments will be made. Jack's daughter has got a pet cage and is keeping the wanderer in there until things settle.

LB what a lovely story.  It’s wonderful to hear some positive news and that a wandering missing pet is now safely home again after four years, what a blessing.  Jacks daughter must be thrilled at the phone call from the vet and to finally have her furry friend home again.  The news has made my day.

Rosie, it made my day too. I've been walking around with a silly grin on my face. I remember us combing the fields looking for her. Pity pets can't talk. It would be interesting to know where she has been in those 4 missing years.

  • Rosie, so sorry to hear your Dad was so poorly. Glad he was well enough to come home though. Hope he's feeling much better today.
Hazel hope you found your way home after your bike ride 😉
Haha LB, yes I've seen the one with Trump acting like a child with a space hopper. Have had quite a few sent today too.
What a lovely story about the list cat, glad she's home again. Do hope she settles and doesn't run off again. I expect her new owner is wondering where she's gone though.
I wonder how Pansys cats are getting on now, hope they're now friends.
Went for a lovely walk in the woods this afternoon. The rain stopped mid morning and the sun came out. It's was beautiful and quite warm.

  • Afternoon All,
LB That is such a happy story and I’m so pleased for Jacks daughter. How astonishing to get news of her lost cat after 4 years, hope the cat soon settles back home,
Lily That is great you were able to get outdoors and enjoy that walk in the sunshine, what a difference that makes to your well being,
Hazel I’m glad you made it home intact and apart from the sore bits it’s done you good you’ve not been out on your bike for a while 🙂
Yvie I hope the boys have had a good day at school and you have a nice evening with them tonight,
Rubee I hope you are taking things easy too, been quite a distressing time for you,
Hope you have a nice evening everyone.
  • Rosie I meant to say thank you for the suggestion to look on the big river site for ideas. I discovered clear hooks held by removable strips that claim they leave no marks so I have placed an order to give them a try 😀👍

Lovely news about the cat LB. Had a horrible encounter at the nursery today. I arrived first as I have to pick Gabriel up a bit early so that I can get Jonah from his school. I parked the car legally on the side of the road that meant I could put Gabriel in the car from the pavement. A car driven by a 6ft bald bully pulled up and shouted at me saying I had parked on the wrong side of the road and to move my car. I said I had no intention of moving it and he continued to shout so I walked away. When I came back he had doubled parked blocking the road. Two community pcs arrived in a car and couldn’t get passed. I explained what had happened and pointed the man out. We’re they bothered were they heck.  They said because they hadn’t seen the altercation they couldnt do anything.  He was still being obnoxious while they were there. I just told them to forget about it and left them to it. Must say it shook me up and I’m not looking forward to picking him up tomorrow.
I think someone on here was planning to go to the Van Gogh exhibition but missed it Here are a couple of photos taken when Second born went with Jonah and Gabriel.
