Thanks Dove, practical advice, as usualĀ

Morning all/afties, evening @Pat E. I'd gladly send you some 'water'. We're back to flooding/gales etc. Ground is so saturated now, everywhere up here. At least the bridges will be open and fine today though.
A bright start today though, after a chilly night. Back to taxi-ing duties with older fairylet. What can you do. Younger one didn't get much sleep either. Home at half ten and back out for her 5am start this morning.Ā  :/
Chuck us over a pud or a cake @D0rdogne_Damsel. You wouldn't miss one or two... ;)
I think Headache has definitely got a wee problem there @WonkyWomble. Hopefully, he'll recover with all the grub he's getting. If not - Christmas dinnerĀ  :D
Dave was originally Peg leg Pete, but he recovered. I was sure I could have caught him if he didn't. Yum yum....
    Terrible.Ā  :D
I think I'll tape my toes together and get a walk. Drives me nuts if I can't go out. I did shift a philadelphus yesterday, but I need to shift another shrub so that it can go in there. I'll get wrapped up and do that later -if I can get the brute out.Ā

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Hello all , lie in this morning for me but although it's dry still I might have missed the sliver of sun for the day! Your stir up sunday efforts look awesome @D0rdogne_Damsel My mum is the only family fan of christmas pudding , but I struggle to get any alcohol free that are nice - not sure if any exist. So we make do with mince pies instead :)Ā

Morning all, another cold and frosty night, forgot to plug in the pond heater for the fish so had to gently break the ice. Now I'm trying to set up a humidifier in the sitting room to see if it will help with my heavy nosebleeds that I get in the winter, we will see. I know I need to have cauterization in my nose but obviously not at the moment.
OH doesn't like Christmas pudding or cake so no point in making either for myself, but I will make myself some mince pies and freeze what I don't eat over Christmas.

Morning. I did stir up Saturday so I can steam it today - a small pud, just enough for the two of us to have a couple of servings each - I like Christmas pud on Boxing Day, tooĀ  :) If you make your own, Desi, you can have it with and without whatever ingredients you want. Ours is sugar free, alcohol free and raisin and currant free. It does have suet but it doesn't have breadcrumbs, it has more carrot and apple than the shop ones and prunes, pine nuts and almondsĀ  B)

Hope everyone (and their pigeons) are OK. Got to go and plant the garlic - it's finally turned up but very late this year, so as there's a break in the weather, best to get it in.Ā

    Hi all

First decent nights sleep for weeks, certainly lifted my mood a bit.

  • Pleased to hear it @punkdoc šŸ˜Ž. Now don’t overdo things ... Sunday’s a day of rest, remember šŸ‘Ā

@WonkyWomble is a big Christmas pud fan and we always used to save one for her birthday in April. She may still have one lurking in her kitchen ... somewhere šŸ‘©ā€šŸ³Ā

Feeling virtuous here having made Xmas puds for OH last weekend.Ā  New recipe with lots of citrus and Cointreau and no suet.Ā  Ā He's the only one who likes the traditional pud but I may well have some of these.Ā  I made a medium one and two small ones rather than one big one.

Very sunny again here but nippy so OH got up and let the chooks out and I've just been down to open the polytunnel and chop them up an overgrown hybrid courgette grown from a compost heap seed.Ā  Ā Possum is back in a slump so I'll take her out for walkies and sunshine after lunch.Ā  Ā It's hard for her being stuck here but, on the whole, better than being stuck on her own in Namur again.Ā  Ā Waiting to see what Macron says on Tuesday.

@Busy-Lizzie maybe tackle some of the obvious stuff in there but leave the detail till nearer the move?Ā  Make it less dauting if you do it in two swoops.Ā  Ā I know every time I sort out a dumping ground like that it always looks worse before it suddenly gets better.

Good @punkdoc.Ā  Do just enough today to be tired again tonight.

I love Christmas cake and pudding, in small quantities, but buy them in these days. I did make three cakes a couple of years ago but found it such a faff, tiring and expensive I swore I wouldn't do any more. Yours look delicious DD.
I actually though I was having a heart attack in the early hours today, felt like a large hand was squeezing my heart, quite painful but after half an hour or so, it went off and I went back to sleep.Ā  I'm so stressed this week, haven't felt like posting much. We were all set to send daughter's mortgage application off on Tuesday when her boss phoned to say she was likely to be made redundant and the following day her landlady phoned to give her 6 months notice of eviction - she doesn't want to pay for any remedial work and wants to sell the house instead. Talk about a double whammy! God knows what we're going to do, I'm at my wits end. I've spent hours on Rightmove looking for flats in that area but nobody will accept pets.Ā
Right, enough of that, at least the sun is out so I'm going out to plant tulips.
