That all sounds yummy @Obelixx. Sounds as though it will be colder where you are than here. Here is going down to 0° in the early hours over the weekend but it should be sunny in the days.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
We have clear skies at the mo @Busy-Lizzie so by dawn it's very cold and they reckon Saturday it'll get down to -4C but be sunny and get to 9C by mid afternoon.Ā Back to double temps again from Monday so just a short blip.
Evening all. I finally got round to processing my chinese quince fruits - four small jars of jelly and a big slab of cheese. Although the recipies all call it cheese it is actually a giant fruit pastille at this stage which will be cut up into strips and covered in dark chocolate to make something like Belgian orangettes. I used to buy those on every work trip to Brussels.
Brrr š„¶ thereās a sharp frost out there ... rime sparkling on the roofs of the cars and houses.Ā
Iām snuggled under the duvet and dear OH is just tidying downstairs so itās all Ā ready for the morning ... then weāll read our books until itās time for Book at Bedtime ... thatās when the light goes out ... but thereās nothing to say I wonāt be already asleep šĀ
Night night all ... sleep tight š“Ā

Night night DoveĀ & anyone else looking in. Shame about Wonky's trug & tools.Ā I would be more upset to lose my trug than anything, I watched mine being made at a county craft show so it's extra special to me.Ā Capel today it was a bit wet & miserable but as they gave me a set of waterproofs last week I felt obliged to go.
Ā Very sorry to hear your news Wonky. Rotten sods! Ā Like everyone else, I hope they have horrible bad luck now. Having worked as a gardener many years ago, I understand how favourite hand tools are important to you, especially secateurs.
we are in for another hot day here. Lounging inside until we go to town for some groceries including ice creams. š
Morning @Pat E and all to follow.Ā So bizarre you talking about ice-cream and some of us a zero temps.Ā
More cake and pudding making today, I've got a bit of a production line going now, fruit soaking, 2 cakes in the oven, second lot weighed out ready to mix , wrapping and labelling whilst waiting. I've taken over the upstairs Tearoom with them all lined up in a packing line. 27 puddings ordered so far, 15 cakes now and as of yesterday 216 Mince pies!Ā
I'm also doing some Fish and Chips for a regular old couple today to takeaway and having a 'Cake-Away' sale all weekend of muffins, scones, cupcakes that are in the freezer and an orange and a lemon drizzle cake that I've made from all the fruit I've zested for the cake/pudding mixes. One lady is coming for 20 scones!Ā Ā
So gardening on hold for the minute.
@WonkyWomble - I am so sad to hear of someone stealing your trug, do people have no heart? With everything that is going on in the world you'd think there would be a bit of pulling together spirit, stealing someone's work tools is a really low thing to do. It has to be someone stealing them to sell, surely not a gardener....
Anyway, hugs to all, I have to go now and get started...see you later.
āCoffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?ā āBetsy CaƱas Garmon
I canāt get over the amount of food preparation you manage DD. MakesĀ me feel tired to think about it. Ā Iāve cheated tonight. Bought two frozen potato and Leek pies from Aldi, so nothing to do but put them in the oven. š¤
