Morning everyone, A very dreary rainy morning. Looks set for the day. Forecast is here is very windy too LB. Fortunately I put all pots etc away/tucked under shrubs a couple of weeks ago. The only thing that isn't covered up is the companion seat 🙄 Hope all boilers are now sorted and everybody is warm and has hot water. Chive, I'm a bit slow with the scarf, didn't do any knitting yesterday after all....ooops. must do some today though. Rubee, glad OH is feeling better. Good you have the cooker connected now. Any room for a little one for tea tonight 😉 Have a good day everyone, take care TTFN
Morning everyone. Lily the scarf will keep poppet snuggly and warm. Ante your squash looks very good and so much beetroot. Chive enjoy your three days off. It will be good for you to have a long weekend. Topbird I hope that the boiler problems will be resolved and you don’t have to use your immersion for long. LB lovely picture and words by Alexander Smith reminding us of October days and autumnal weather.
It looks like we won't get the worst of the incoming storm up here but I'm going to make sure there's nothing loose out the back. Hoping the blow away mini greenhouse has enough weight in it now. It's also tied to concrete posts and buffered on each side with bags of compost so should be ok.
Morning - and a rather damp and blustery one it is too!
Not been able to speak to the heating engineers yet. Suspect I'll have to wait for service day to get the problem fixed - ho hum.
Glad your cooker is working Rubee. Are you going to do a roast and all the trimmings this weekend? I could bring a bottle of something nice if you're extending invitations😉
Chive - enjoy your longer weekend - sounds as though you've earned it.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Afties all. Did the meter readings and then decided to do a water change for the fish. That always takes 3 hours so I'm cream crackered now. I don't think I will get into the garden today as there are some suspicious clouds up in the sky. Need to get something to eat as well.
Chive - THREE days. What bliss! Enjoy every second. Chey has his good days and rough days but I think on the whole he has more of the good ones.
Ruby - inaugural meal tonight. Wonderful. I could bob round as well if you've room.
Hazel, perhaps only one more day and your job will be completed for you. Fingers crossed.
Debs - good to see you. I had actually written about wondering how you were going on with your new kitchen, then I moved on a page and there you were. I do hope it's just the kitchen that's troubling you.
SGL - I intend doing some knitting today the blanket is growing and growing. I haven't decided how long I need to make it though. Whether to keep it just as a lap blanket/seat cover when Lily is around or what? I'll need to make a decision fairly soon.
T'Bird, sorry that you haven't been able to contact your engineers. At least you will have your important service done before winter.
@Biglad - jobs a good 'un. You sound well prepared.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
It's just started raining so I've come in after a quick faff out the back. The limited number of pots are now stashed and I took another cutting from the roses on the way past (can't resist a suitable looking stem!). Made me realise that I need more pots but I'm loathe to buy any during my current impecunious state and any that appear on freecycle get snapped up rapidly.
Some of these may be repeats of others you have had before.

Just a few pots to put under cover now.
