  • I agree with your hubby @Nanny Beach
It hasn't stopped for 2 days and nights here!
    Morning @Fairygirl
I only got 17 in the first round yesterday and 2nd round I didn't stand a chance as I was working on a busy road and the traffic doesn't stop for popmaster..... in my head I'm now seeing a lollypop person with a round stop sign on one side and turns it over and there's popmaster sign with a shushing symbol  :D

Good morning! Well it arrived - the wind and rain that is, blowing a hoolie and plenty of rain. Good for the ground but the plants are all looking very sorry for themselves.

    Morning all. Raining again.

    What is a popmaster?

I'm going to lunch with a friend. We had been thinking of going for a walk before lunch but it looks very uninviting out there.

    Hi all

Woke up and could not move, seem to have done something to my back. Dosed up on pain killers and will spend the day reading.

Must be very cold, as the heating turned itself on this morning.

It's the quiz on Ken Bruce's radio 2 show @Busy-Lizzie. He'll be on in a few minutes.
I have to take the car for it's MOT for 10am. They'd better not keep me hanging about or it'll make me late for it  :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks @Fairygirl, can't get Radio 2 here. Well, maybe I could on the TV in the sitting room but I want to be in the kitchen.

I hope your back eases as the day goes on @punkdoc.

  • Good morning @Busy-Lizzie have you tried BBC sounds online? It's a site that you can access all BBC radio and podcasts etc. Live and archive programs also.
Morning  @Pdoc,  I did that the other day.... ready! It's going to rain anyway  ;)

Thank you @WonkyWomble, I didn't know about it. I thought it would be impossible as I can't get iPlayer in France. I've just tried but my Internet signal probably isn't strong enough. I get a bit but then a wheel goes round and round. Didn't like the song on Radio 2, I prefer Radios 3 and 4. Tried Brain of Britain but my laptop only managed 3 questions!

Morning all, looks like summer is definitely over. Two days of pressing apples is taking its toll, stiff and sore now. Amazing how many muscles we use doing mundane stuff. The upside is there are 25 litres of fermenting apple juice in the kitchen now.
  • Good morning all.

The sun is back so I'll be doing some brisk gardening this morning - there's a sharp northerly wind to keep me on my toes.  The sowing of yellow rattle will have to wait until tomorrow, forecast dry and much calmer.

Hope you've got a good book to take your mind off the back pain, @punkdoc, and that it eases quickly.

Hubby thinks his bandaged finger is too fat to fit in a rubber glove, @Fairygirl - and points out that his hospital notes say he shouldn't indulge in "vigorous activity" involving the damaged part... anyone think he might be milking this a little bit??   :D

It's Friday again.  Not sure how that happened!  This year there's not enough activity to work out which day is which - though GW on Friday nights is useful in that respect.  Does anyone watch "Beechgrove"?  When I can, I watch the repeat on Sunday morning.  The episode before last featured Chris Beardshaw explaining the science behind growing plants in shade, which was fascinating.   :)

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
