Evening folks, just got back from our North Wales holiday, had a lovely time and the hotel was good, although with a restricted menu so lots of chips. Afraid to get on the scales tomorrow! Had to do a lot of touring by car because I've still got vertigo and OH's knee was painful. We thought it was safer anyway. Snowdonia rammed with people so we gave that a miss.  Did a pre-booked lovely steam train trip on the Tallylywn (?) railway for our 24th wedding anniversary, complete with hamper and prosecco.

We're now going to more or less self isolate for 2 weeks just in case we've picked up the virus - fingers crossed we haven't.

Best wishes for everyone who needs it.

Don't try and compete with 5*!

I can recommend this for dessert - https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/appleandblueberrycob_12556 assuming you can get "myrtilles sauvages" in the freezer section of Leclerc or Picard so they have some flavour.

Shepherd's pie for mains if they don't like spicy stuff or a chicken curry with rice which can be as spicy or mild as you like?

I'm no chef @D0rdogne_Damsel, but if you want some snails for the menu?  ;)

  • Thanks all, @Obelixx, actually I've a freezer full of local grown blueberries so that could work.....  @Biglad, I think your snails might be a little too tough having been rugby tackled into submission. 😅

  • When I need to serve a gluten free meal I go for a fishy salady first course, a cassoulet type main and either a chocolate mousse or a fruity pavlova for pud. And cheese and fresh fruit somewhere ... either before or after the pud.

Morning all. Just trying to keep in touch before I get cut off again. Haven’t read back yet, but I plan today to sew up my little knitted dolls to take in to the gallery tomorrow. I’d rather knit than sew them up, hence I’ve got lots to catch up on. 🙄.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
good luck to Mr @Liriodendron on his early morning trip to hospital. Hope they get that thumb sorted quickly ... thumbs are useful things bit only when functioning and not painful ... otherwise they can be a PITA😉

I think the same can be said  of most body parts.  ;)

    Good morning all.

  • Morning all - hi @Pat E !  Hope you get the sewing up done.  Not the most interesting bit of "making" - I've got a little knitted teddy bear to finish, hard to see cos it's fawn and I have cateracts...

Thanks, @Dovefromabove.  He's just messaged me to say he's nearly at the hospital so that's the first step over.   :)
