    Morning all,

Glad to hear you've got some clothes on today, d-fab - the weather isn't really warm enough for exposed appurtenances ;)

Looks like it's better than the forecast outside but I wasn't expecting a gardening option today  :o However, I'm sure I'll find something to do whilst OH is stomping round the house rustling bags.

Happy Obxx here.  52mm of rain yesterday or 2" in old money.   More rain this morning but I have managed to avoid it whilst out buying fabric to cut up and give away in Fat Quarters for the subscription prezzie on Monday at the AGM.   Did that with two pals from the committee who were very happy with the range of fabrics and haberdashery available.  It's and "end of range/bankruptcy" sort of shop and one of our ladies is a glass very much less than half full person who didn't believe we'd find any.

Then on to an SM I use occasionally to find Possum's favourite beer and they had packs of bulbs in too so pècheresse for Possum, Kwak for OH and spring flowers for me.

This pm Poss and I are off to get the feeder and water thingy for the hens and some feed and straw and some chain for their swing and then we'll be ready for them.  Day out tomorrow - Olonne outdoor market, hairdresser, lunch, Vendée Globe stuff to see.........

Hope OH gets sorted @Liri.   Enjoy your day off @D0rdogne_Damsel .  You have another PM.

Stay safe everyone and have fun if you can.

    Morning all.

I hope Mr @Liriodendron has successful thumb treatment. It sounds horribly painful.

Enjoy your day off @D0rdogne_Damsel I hope your weather is better than mine. There have been some heavy downpours.

I've been answering emails, sweeping the garage and cleaning the pool. It rained so hard a couple of nights ago that a load of limestoney clay was washed into the garage leaving the floor covered with fine dust that sticks to your shoes. I've swept it out and cleaned the drain in front of the 3 car garage barn, 15m long.

Autumn seems to be arriving early, trees changing colour and leaves falling. Must be because of the hot summer and drought. Some had blown into the pool and algae was growing, water going green. I want it clean before shutting it down and putting the winter products into it or it's awful in the spring. Hopefully by then it won't be my problem. It's 6 x 12m which is big and a pain to keep clean and expensive to run. I'll be glad to be rid of it though it was great when the children were small and the GCs love it.

  • Dry and windy here now and there's washing flapping on the line ... the windowclean has been and done battle with the Rosa glauca and buddleja to get our windows sparkling clean ... fortunately he uses a long pole with a brush on the end pumping ionised water onto the windows so he doesn't actually come into contact with the shrubs  B)

Autumn arriving here as well @Busy-Lizzie, lots of big maple leaves all over the lawns when we got home yesterday and I had forgotten the Green Thumb man was due today.
He very kindly got his blower and blew them off the lawns before he spread the autumn feed/weed?. The SM delivery van also arrived at the same time so some shunting around on the drive was needed. Had 12 bottles of wine delivered (special offer of 25% off but unfortunately I can't drink alcohol at the moment due to vertigo. Phoned the surgery for advice and was told my GP will phone me back next week! Most gardening will be out of the question for a while - good job it's end of the season. Roses looking good and the three Aster Monch have survived.

Do hope Mr Liri's minor op solves the problem and is not too painful.

Enjoy your day off DD. Hope the hens appreciate their new abode Obelixx.
