Jeez. Ignore button being pressed now.

Hope you've had a better day today @Yviestevie

Because she's taking common sense based on years of experience and felt that the OP on that thread needed other info.   Perfectly reasonable.

We are all here to share a common love of plants and gardening and that means giving the best possible info based on experience.   What works in Land's End won't work in John O'Groats because of the huge differences in soil, exposure, average rain and temps.   Same applies to two gardens in the same valley if one is north facing and one is south.

Novice gardeners won't necessarily realise that so it helps to point it out.

A difference of opinion is just that, not a personal attack, especially when an explanation is given as @Fairygirl did.

@Liriodendron if savlon doesn’t work (we also call it magic cream 🤣) then try mag sulph paste.  It was my mum’s go to remedy, and removed the remnants of a tick from my side a couple of months ago.

Littlest chicklet safely installed in Brum.  Lovely house and lovely room.  Listened to many podcasts on the way home (including Monty with Fi and Jane 👍🏻👍🏻).  House here is now very quiet 😢

    Morning all/afties @Pat E if you're there.
Glad chicklet is fine @chicky :)
Hope @Liriodendron's magic cream has worked  ;)
Cool, dank and cloudy here again, and 7 overnight. Hopefully it'll clear up like yesterday did. Had to relent and put the heating on for half an hour.
Not sure what I'll do today. Yesterday was just some general pottering and tidying. I got a delivery of sweet pea seeds, but they'll wait a couple of weeks till I get the toms out the growhouse.

    Good morning all  :) ☕️
Glad you had a lovely time @punkdoc 😎
I feel that I should be tidying the veg patch and taking down the runner beans etc ... but they’re still producing. It’s been the best year for them ever. Probably ought to pick the last of the tomatoes and bring them in tho ... temps are due to drop ...

  • Morning all,  coffee number 2, chilly start but should burn off to a nice sunny day here apparently.
Weekend was spent doing housework and gardening.  Bargain grasses from lidl planted, clearing and general tidy of beds. Putting off clearing the sludge from the bottom of the pond. So that's a this week job.

Ooh- wonder what sort of stuff will be hiding in your sludge @WonkyWomble :D
The frog was vey miffed at me moving him from his home when I did mine, but he got over it. The new liner was clearly to his liking.  ;)
I have so many water hawthorn seedlings, almost the entire surface is covered. If you want any, let me know. I don't know how easy it'll be to remove them, but it shouldn't be too tricky. The main one's been flowering since summer.

@Fairygirl your sweetpea seed delivery reminds me that I should get a wiggle on and order my 2021 seeds .....keep hearing that the demand will be high.  But first l need to make a list 🗒.

We’re forecast another sunny one, so I’m taking a good supply of reading materials and we’re off to the beach again.  Definitely our find of 2020.  Got a few plant names to learn before school tomorrow - glad your Phaseolus coccineous have had such a good year @Dovefromabove 😉

Scottish island sounds idyllic @punkdoc.  So glad you got a fun weekend in before we all get confined to barracks again.

Morning all, busy day ahead. Friends dropped of several sacks of apples yesterday to be turned into cider.  :p Time to dust off the press and scratter. My own trees are still a few weeks away from cropping but I can add in windfalls.
Spent yesterday creating my own mini earthquake by splitting logs - OH could feel the vibrations inside the house. Some sections were a bit twisted where they branched and it took a lot of effort to persuade them to split, shoulders feeling the strain of swinging the axe and sledgehammer this morning.

    Hi all

Missing my full Scottish breakfast this morning, the Haggis was particularly wonderful.

Lots of bulbs arriving today, so plenty to keep me busy for a few weeks.
