Glad you had a good time @punkdoc. I should have kept some of that good weather for here, although it cleared in the afternoon. I know what you mean about busy places, and the behaviour. I just can't do it. Typical @Obelixx, although I expect you've been needing some rain. OH's friend - ouch, Not a good move. Literally.

Very pleased you decided to go @punkdoc and that you had a good time. Funnily enough, our recent pitstops on French motorways have been OK except for the one by Rouen that I dislike anyway. I do only stop for the loo and then a coffee from the machine tho and eat my picnic in the car.
We do need rain @Fairygirl so I can get some weeding done. The new bed by the barn has sprouted a forest of them in my absence but the soil is so dry it's hard to pull them and it's the same along the ruins and in the roses beds and the veggie plot. Might get a dribble overnight and later tomorrow but they've had serious storms up in Challans with flooding and car damaging hailstones - nearer the Loire which tends to be a tidemark for weather systems.
Long drive then @Busy-Lizzie. Hope the rest of the freezer is OK.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Today OH and I discovered the brownest liquid on earth. Gravy browning... the bottle sprang out of the cupboard and shattered on the granite worktop. Browning everywhere, soon accompanied by blood from hubby's cut finger...
Anyone know how to remove a small sliver of glass from a finger? I can feel it with the tweezers but not grab hold of it.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I'd agree with @Blue Onion - keep it moist and covered and it can be 'persuaded' out @Liriodendron. Nasty little thing though You could always use the browning for painting the fences if you're short on Ronseal
I seem to have ruffled someone's feathers on a thread about a narrow border. I've defended myself, but that's fanned flames. Sometimes, people don't seem to understand basic common sense.

Thanks for the advice. I'll look for the Savlon - used to be known as Magic Cream when I worked as a "dinner nanny" at the village school where we lived in Northumberland. Now, of course, you're not allowed to use it in school in case the child is allergic... makes sense, I suppose.

Sorry @Gaijin but I read Fairygirls post and she did give sound advice. She hasn't been rude just honest. Feel free to ignore any advice given on the site just don't try and stir up trouble.
To accuse someone of having a lack of common sense is rude. I'm not one of the common thickos. I cannot apologise for taking it personally. I seem to have misunderstood the unpublished rules of this forum.
If Im supposed to "feel free to ignore advice given on this forum" then why couldn't fairygirl have ignored me instead of attacking me?
