Oh that's lovely @Hostafan1. You'll be like a wean at Christmas Hope everything goes well - for you both x Lovely pic @chicky. Glad you had a nice walk, even if you were a bit out of breath That does seem expensive @Lizzie27, but I have no experience of paying someone to do hedging. I used to do my Dad's when it got too much for him, and he'd had someone in to do it. I remember being horrified at how much he was paying, so I said I'd do it. He had around 60 metres in total, not counting the front hedge, but it was around £350 they were taking back then - about 20 years ago. Steady as you go @punkdoc - keep positive. Glad you got them safely @Yviestevie. They'll be fine. I removed a few leaves, but they'll keep producing them for while. Remember - I have a couple more if you want them, but those fitted in quite well to the packaging. Maybe the little ones would like some for their new garden if they have one? Didn't get too wet when I was out - think it's to be worse later, and much windier. Hope @Liriodendron hasn't been flooded or blown away....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Exciting indeed @Hostafan1. Have a wonderful time with your new wee family.
I see Thomas S has, at last, had a haircut which is much better but Owain looks like he's borrowed a Trump hairpiece!
Pottering away quietly here. Roman blind up in the sewing room, upstairs dusted and vacced and windows cleaned. Now for the stairs and downstairs which will take a while or two, especially as I shall have to empty OH's bloody Dyson! Normally he drives that and I do the other stuff.

My NDN has one of those robot cleaners that goes round the house, but whats the point if it doesn't go under the furniture, you still have to get the other vacuum out to to the rest.
We have a robot too @floralies and it does go under furniture and is better than most with cat and dog hairs - NEATO, not bloody Dyson - but I've been painting and drilling and moving furniture so a proper vaccing is needed and, whilst it knows not to chuck itself down steps and stairs, the robot can't actually clean them.

Thanks, @Fairygirl - we're fine here, just "usual" rain and a bit of wind. It's wetter further north, in Galway and Donegal, I think. Luckily I got the logs (from the wind-felled rowan, cut up by a gorgeous hunky fireman moonlighting from his day job ) all stacked up yesterday. Still got to decide what to do with the stump, which "righted" itself once the weight of trunk & branches was removed. If I've the energy I'll get out the mattock once it's dry, and sever the roots on the side where they're still attached to the stump, so maybe we can get the soil off it and drag it out of the way.
Sorry, not been a very regular contributor on here recently. Your hubby's a dab hand at the dry stone walling, @chicky - could do with his help rebuilding our dilapidated garden wall...
Hope you get some answers at the hospital, @punkdoc... and that you have a wonderful time with the family, @Hostafan1.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Glad you haven't been blown away @Liriodendron. Any news yet @punkdoc or still too early?
We did a fair bit of research @floralies and some robots are indeed higher than others and some not as good with pet hairs as others. Certainly the Dyson and the iRobot/Roomba versions are not as good as our Neato.

My gall bladder is coming out in " 3 to 4 months" . Perfect time to be resting up for a gardener eh?
