  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Predictably we’ve slept in ... the day looks reasonably fair ... let’s see what happens ...

@Obelixx 😊  we used to hang the cabbage or sprout stalk up in the hen run ... they seemed to find it much more interesting to have to peck at it as it swung ... think it was also good for their neck muscles etc (which will be important for rescue hens) and stops it getting trampled and muddy etc so it’s much better all around.

Oooh I need my second ☕️ then will head for the shower 🚿

Clearly some go smoothly @chicky but it's the whole gazumping/subject to contract/searches and chain thing that can be a nightmare.  Here, once an offer is made and the initial contract signed there's a fixed period to get the money in place and all the rest before the final contract is signed and financial penalties for failure on either side.

Will do @Dovefromabove but this cabbage was one OH harvested and chopped into chunks and then bunged in the fridge.  I've taken them some more of his grapes today.  They like those!

Rasta delivered for shearing.  2nd coffee now.

Good morning all, lots of good new around this morning I see, also my son has been told he can have a flu jab after all. Glad to see the hens are settling in @Obelixx, have the cats sussed them out yet?
@Busy-Lizzie we have a humax box as well and can only record one program at a time. Bake Off is repeated early morning on maybe 4seven or one of those channels, also later in the week on the main channel I think. The early morning one is good as it doesn't interfere with other programs.  :)

We have Sky in the living room and Freeview in the kitchen so I can have something other than golf when cooking or otherwise occupied.   Give us plenty of flexibility but even then there are clashes.

Good news about your son @floralies.   OH has just had his letter inviting him to go the pharmacy from October 13th to fetch his prescription.  Mine will arrive in a day or two and then we can go to the nurses' office in Motiers for the jabs.

Now to measure Possum for some new jeans/denim trousers.  She's not shop shaped either.

@Busy-Lizzie, I think I have given you the wrong info there, I think it is B/O extra slice that is repeated early hours, sorry! My head is all over the place at the moment.

Morning. Rain on my day off.

Some good news stories from you guys.

Thanks for reminder about The Write Offs @dovefromabove. I saw last week’s. I thought Sandy was wonderful in it - encouraging and supportive, nurturing but not patronising.

    Have a good day all.

Morning all. There was a lot I wanted to watch last night. I recorded some of it on +1 and watched some, but I can't record something and watch something else, sometimes I can but other times the Humax thingy won't let me. So I ended up watching TV in bed while recording went on the the sitting room. But I didn't see the Write Offs. I wish the Bake Off wasn't 1h 15 as it interferes with other programmes. Looking forward to All Creatures Great and Small.
    @Busy-Lizzie
Doesn't the Humax have the streaming services? I'm not sure if the Humax boxes are all different (obviously they have Freeview (via aerial) and Freesat (via satellite) versions), but they are simply digital tuners with various services. It would be worthwhile looking at the manual for iPlayer, ITV Hub etc -  more than likely all bundled under Freeview Play (for aerial based).
If you have those services, then most popular TV shows are also available there, either after they've been broadcast, or as a complete set. You can then watch them at your leisure without having to record them.
I'm odd as I still record stuff even though I know it is on a streaming service - not sure why......

Good morning folks. We have rain so it will have to be indoor jobs for me - I've got piles of ironing to do so that will keep me busy. OH has just gone for his usual PSA test and I didn't fancy walking in the rain. We've taken photos and measured up our front door set up to email to the door canopy people. It's a bit tricky as it's kind of a 'U' shape and I think we should allow sufficient room each side to get stepladders up to roof level for access. We want them to install it as well, had a look at the instructions and just shuddered!

Right, coffee drunk, I'd better get on.

Hope you enjoyed ACGAS @Busy-Lizzie. I'm biased, having worked on it, but love the feel of it and, of course, the beautiful countryside.

Damp here today (as forecast!  :o), which fits in well as I've got to drive to Settle for an appointment so would've had a chunk of garden time wasted had it been dry. There's some respite due tomorrow before a miserable looking weekend  :(

  • Oh dear ... @Fairygirl .... the first Popmaster contestant was hardly a bundle of joy and this one seems no better ... perhaps they need more coffee?  ;)
