A very large cake all to yourself might be a better consolation @floralies, although I don't suppose that would be advisable in the circumstancesĀ  ;)
What a hellish time your son is having. Talk about being kicked when you're already down. Does he use any of the t'interweb gadgets for chatting with friends - zoom etc?Ā

Lovely sunny morning here but no gardening for me although we're going to pop up to the GC after lunch to get bags of manure on special offer. Thanks for the good wishes @Fairygirl, hope you get another hike in while you've got the chance, looks like bad weather coming in tomorrow. I'm totally lost @Dovefromabove but gather you're having a spat with someone?
Stay strong @Yviestevie, we're all thinking of you today.
Didn't know you knew Poole @Punkdoc, our favourite coastal place with family connections. My father kept a small yacht there after he retired but after a near miss with the chain ferry at Sandbanks which frightened the life out of us, sailedĀ  mainly round Brownsea Island after that - we scattered his ashes off the Island later.

It was a returning WUM causing bother earlier @Lizzie27, on various threads. We all just flagged /reported the offensive comment :)
Yes - weather to change by tomorrow, although the clear skies changed andĀ it's been cloudy here for most of the morning, but it's pleasant enough. I might look east for a drier outing - often the case.

  • Not a spat @Lizzie27 ... just a returning WUM/Troll who reappeared overnight and left a load of offensive posts with personal remarks and bad language etc targeting one or two posters in particular and older women in general. All dealt with now ... unless they get trollied again and have nothing better to do in the middle of the night. He or she is obviously in need of some professional support but they’re not going to find it here šŸ™„Ā

Oh, okay, as you say, that sort of thing is not nice at all.

@Lizzie27, I trained in Southampton and then did my early jobs in Poole, Portsmouth and Winchester, before starting to move North.

Well, four jars of ā€˜courgette’, ginger and chilli chutney have been made and jarred.Ā

I only used two homegrown Apache chillies but the chutney is a bit feisty ... it’s going to be wonderful at Christmas when it’s mellowed.Ā

The chicken stock for the Cock-a-leekie is made, the vegetables all prepped and the kitchen is clean and tidy again. šŸ˜‡Ā

Now I’ll flop with a coffee and some knitting for a while before assembling the stock and veg.Ā

For anyone who hasn't seen them in the flesh, myself included, this is almost as good

Conditions have been perfect in the last few days up north for itĀ  :)

  • Thank you @Fairygirl those are beautiful. My Pa was stationed up on Shetland for a while in WW2 and loved the Lights ... I remember when he called me out of bed as a child one night to see a faint greenish glow in the Suffolk night sky ... he loved his time there ... I sometimes wonder if my first name has something to do with his love of Shetland ... I know it was his choice. Ma told me he said, ā€˜You can name her what you like ... I shall call her ******.’ Ma knew when she was beaten šŸ˜†Ā
