    Morning all.

Family arrived around 11.30: way past my bedtime. lol
We had cuddles and hugs and sat and chatted. Little'un is just divine. Babies usually hate me at first sight, lol ( they're not the only ones I hear you cry ! ) but he's very contented.
    I didn't get to sleep until about 2.30 .
He's been awake, but Daughter stuck her head out and said " I'm just putting him back down for a nap ". All's quiet and there's a pot of tea awaiting anyone who gets up.

    It's raining. TOUGH ! I don't care. lol

  • Morning all. :)
I am typing on my old computer, feels very odd - and slow

Happy for you @Hostafan1 so good to see your family at last, very exciting.  :)

@Fairygirl, I wish I had known you were up in the middle of the night, me too, I could have talked through what was keeping me awake.  :/

Have to go deal with it now - could go one way or another - a member of staff (one I thought was the best) has been bullying new staff and generally causing upset - I have had to spend more time in the office or going out to the cash & carry, collecting orders etc. and had missed what was going on. It's not a nice thing to happen and worse because I trusted this person, she's been with me for 3 years, definitely a case of when the cat's away.... and being too big for her boots.....I don't know what the outcome will be but the conversation will not be pleasant. All very tricky - and unnecessary too, why can't people just be nice?  :'(

My chef has gone on holiday now for two weeks so I am cooking everyday more or less, my shifts with hers combined so at least I will be there to see if there is any improvement and/or stop it happening again. All very tricky and upsetting.

Anyway, I have plants in the post enroute so hopefully that will cheer me up finding a home for them.

Have a good day all, especially @Hostafan1 and I hope @punkdoc you find a solution for your woes too. xxx

  • Morning @D0rdogne_Damsel ... staff management eh?  Not always the nicest bit of running a business ... some folk seem unable to be given responsibility without it going to their heads and developing a sense of self importance. Good luck with that one 🤗
Thought we were supposed to be getting a dry morning ... it’s either not arrived yet or it’s been and gone. 🙄

Sunny here.  They think we may get a short spell of cloud on Saturday around midday and then again later on Sunday but no rain.   SM raid for me and more cleaning and tidying.   OH should be back in time for dinner and I'm out on Patch business tomorrow and Saturday so want all the jobs done first.

Lots of cuddles and chat to come then @Hostafan1.  Enjoy.

Hope you perk up a bit @punkdoc and anyone else with health worries.

Takes all sorts @Pat E .  Good present @AuntyRach .   Hope your rain clears up soon @Fairygirl and everyone gets a bit of dry weather - unless, like me, you'd enjoy a day or so of rain.

Sorry- forgot to say I hope it goes well @D0rdogne_Damsel and that you can change the behaviour and keep everyone happy.

Indeed, but some folk are just like that @D0rdogne_Damsel. The wee bit of power goes to their head.  :/
    @Pat E  ;)
Raining again here too, but smirry, rather than hefty. Not so windy either. I had a little bird in the garden earlier, jinking around among the sweet peas etc near the door. I got a photo, but it isn't great. A little warbler I think. Lovely  :)

Lovely present @AuntyRach 🌳. You’ll think of them every time you look at it 😀.

So glad you have met your grandson @Hostafan1 ...... and lovely to see your daughter too. Enjoy the next few days.

Hope Possum is happy in her new flat @Obelixx - does she have a job lined up now that college is finished?

Hope you start feeling a bit better soon @punkdoc - lots of R&R needed.

Heading off for a coastal walk today round Chichester harbour.  Grey and foggy, so hoping it will be atmospheric to compensate for the lack of views.

Heard a lot of dripping and splashing overnight so I think we've had quite a bit of rain. Surprisingly bright this morning. Not sure that was forecast. The result being that my hoped for lie-in was denied by a workman chatting to his mate up the road. I assume his mate had headphones in and was listening to Metallica full blast because I could hear every word the loudmouth was uttering (not that any of it was anywhere near interesting. Or particularly coherent, to be honest).

"Smirry rather than hefty" is a phrase that I haven't heard before @Fairygirl. Love it!

    Morning all.
I hope you enjoy your family day @Hostafan1
I didn't sleep well last night either, was up between 3 and 4m, worrying about which of my children has which piece of furniture as some of them want the same and I have to give it out fairly.

Back to the garden now to tackle the ivy on the terrace.

  • Just popping in to say hello hope all are well commiserations to those with issues to deal with. Damp start here so a rest after yesterdays "spud bashing". All main crop out now, still lots of slug damage in spite of spending out on nematode treatments. At this rate I might have to give up on main crop & stick to first & second early ones only.
