  • Hi All,

Bit of a hectic day, including locking my own car keys in the car....don't ask :/ Had to go to Limoges too, by the time the breakdown people got here I had lost about two hours, anyway, finally got things done and got back. Trying desperately to get someone to put a roof/awning/store/canopy....I don't know what over my terrace, I've been to 3 places today, all very complicated, now have rendezvous for 3 quotes....not easy and I fear more expensive than the actual terrace, but so necessary, people are afraid to sit indoors at the moment. Weather was lovely today and we've been full all day, Saturday/Sunday it rained and people were very thin on the ground, tricky, tricky, tricky.

To add to my stress I am off the wine now until my holiday, 22nd of October, decided I am drinking too much, more concerned about calories than alcohol, anyway, it'll do me good. I am struggling to sleep, I am hoping that will get better too. So, this evening I am sat down reading a good book and sipping tonic water with a splash of lime.  o:)

@Obelixx, thanks for the tip, I will get that sorted.  :)

Here is the pic of my pumpkins btw, they've literally just grown from seeds in the compost and are quite happily hanging onto the stone wall, clinging to the ivy I think.   B)

    Good evening to you all,
P.S. Happy to hear all the house worries are coming together @Busy-Lizzie

I think they were probably fined @Obelixx - they did that earlier in the year. It's always been the case, but definitely more of it this year. I still remember the woman in a pair of 'ballet shoes' we encountered on that hill. It was early April, hail and snow at regular intervals, and she was heading up at about 2pm in these ludicrous shoes. It would have been almost dark by the time she got to the summit, let alone getting back down.  Insane.
Hope the weather doesn't affect you too badly. You'll need a good long list to keep hubby occupied  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Credit where credits due ......needed a new passport so applied online last Wednesday.  They texted me today to say my photo was no good, so I sent another one.  Just got another text to say all has been approved and the new one is now in the post ...... now that’s what I call amazing service 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

How strange - just tried the link from the post and it works fine here.
I would assume anyway that you have Freeview - ie aerial based - or else you'd be on some form of Sky (?) satellite box (if you are on satellite - ie Humax Freesat - All4 left Freesat a while back apparently, so you won't be able to access the catch up service from that box). From what I can gather, Humax have three styles of Freeview box - ones with Freeview Play, those with Youview and some others with just iPlayer. So the odds (2:1) are on you having a box that supports All4, ITV Hub etc. If you don't have the box's manual, you should be able to get the model from the label on the base and the Humax site will say what it's spec (hard c) is and whether it supports All4 etc.

Also, you may be like us and have a Smart TV AND a set top box (we have both as we're with BT and they provided a Humax Youview box) - so your TV may also have Freeview Play as an 'app' - it is worth checking the TV manual in that case. Our TV is a few years old and it has Freeview Play.

Don't ask why Freeview has both Youview and Freeview Play variants which appear to do roughly the same thing....

    Morning all.
@steveTu, I live in France so  aerial based TV is French. I have a satellite for English TV but iPlayer is forbidden here.

@Busy-Lizzie, if you look on the Radio Times on line at next Tuesdays B/O and press for more info it brings up when it is repeated.   :)
