They mentioned that on one of the news bulletins I heard @Dovefromabove. The perils of living on a coast. That poor man with his car though I don't know if you've watched the rescue programme I was mentioning to @punkdoc . I watched the recent episode last night, and one of the teams talked about how they stop for Popmaster The sun seems to be returning, so I might get out and trim off the bits of buddleia which are done, and see what Dave's up to.

You'll be delighted to hear that I won't be papping on about fence painting for a while
Pulled up the pea plants that were in the way (looked like there were attempts at a couple of new flowers being made but needs must) and finally finished the job
More tidying up and a couple more rose cuttings taken. Feeling quite smug at a reasonably successful afternoon's 'work'.
Good stuff @Biglad. Satisfying when you get these jobs done. I got the buddleia cut back to the fence level while it was dry and pleasant, and potted on a small plant or two. Sat with Dave for a while and gave him his tea. I'm a soft touch. I missed @Pat E's post re the pix, but glad she liked them. It's something I would love to see. Loads of toms, so youngest fairylet and myself are having some bruschetta. I think one plant can come out now, so I'll be able to sow a few sweet peas and bung them in there.

@dovefromabove A busy day and I expect you have also made your sour dough bread. I would love your recipe for cock-a-leekie soup - I could look it up on internet, but I have a feeling your recipe comes from deep down! My basil was destroyed from the high winds this weekend, so I have cut it all back, blitzed it with garlic and frozen it into "pods" for winter use.
Beautiful photos @Fairygirl, I've been to Thurso and Durness when a teenager but didn't really appreciate it then. Didn't see any of the Northern lights though unfortunately.
@Biglad - I'm fortunate that I decide what gets painted and when. The joy of being single We're very lucky to have so much unpolluted sky up here @Lizzie27, and much of it within fairly easy reach - 3 or 4 hours, or even less. All in the timing though eh? I don't suppose many of us fully appreciated those kinds of things as teenagers either. Talking to that lovely girl the other day, I wish I could have gone hillwalking at that age, but I worked very long hours, so I don't know when I'd have done it! Regret the things you've done, not the things you haven't is the saying. Not a bad motto .
