All this talk of ice cream, and I haven’t even managed breakfast yet ☺️

Keep an eye on Possum @Obelixx (stating the obvious, of course you will) - she might need some help to get back on track.  The last few months have been really tough on the youngsters - never mind having to complete dissertations etc to boot. Sending her hugs.

Hope you get up on a hill @Fairygirl 🏔🏔🏔.  And that it makes your heart sing 💕, as well as your thighs burn 🔥

Thanks @chicky.   We have help lined up for when she gets back but first a holiday and change of scene, pace and perspective.   I hope junior chicklet will be OK going back to Brum.   Final year?

No breakfast here either as we're having full English/Irish for brunch.

Hope you get your hill @Fairygirl, thighs or not.

Happy anniversary @AuntyRach and @Jacquimcmahon.   Hope you celebrate them well.

Possum is almost on parade and we're going to go and do a coat of Cuprinol on the hen house.   Found 2 pots of cream stuff when fossicking in the cave the other week.  Nowhere else to use it.

  • Bit late to the party but it was our 48th wedding anniversary last Weds. On the 16th, same date (not year!) as my birthday and the day before OH's birthday. I picked the day to make sure he never had a reason to forget!

    Congrats to all other celebrants.

My love of Autumn probably started with my wedding, partly because of choosing the flowers and colours. I had cream, gold, russets and reds with roses, alstroemerias, hypericum berries etc.

  • Good evening all,

I'm sat in the rain (under cover) with a glass of red wine, alone but happy.

Chef is a superstar. His girlfriend wants to be a waitress..... long way ahead but I'm thinking they could possibly buy the place from me......😅

@Obelixx, I do hope Possum is ok, so very tricky. Glad we're all 27 and haven't got to go through all that growing up again! Very difficult for young people these days - and that was before Covid19. I did wonder yesterday if nightclubs and theatres and pop concerts would become a thing of the past? Charlie was saying a bird's life is easier....makes you think.
Went to school an hour early today by mistake to collect Charlie and when I realized my mistake killed the spare 45 minutes in a garden centre, came out with a couple of Echinacea, I thought they were half price, but they weren't - oops - but I do love them. And thankfully it's rained tonight so they'll settle in nicely I hope.
Anyway, love, hugs, congratulations to all. Xxx

Hello folks ... we had a lovely picnic at Burghley  with niece and her very presentable and likeable boyfriend👍 Just the sort of chap we hoped he’d be. They’re both very young but he’ll certainly do for now.

We’ve had supper and then collapsed on the sofa in front of GW. (Not keen on The Newt’ ... it seemed plonked down with no relationship to the surrounding landscape or the contours and gradients of that hillside.)

Now to read back and see what you’ve all been up to ... 🥱  but I’m falling asleep ... I may have to do that in the morning ... night night sleep tight all 😴

😱 That’s funny because the Newt has just gone on my “must visit” list 😍.

Giggling here to Peter Kay re-runs 🙃
  • Good morning all  :) ☕️
    an absolutely gorgeous autumn morning.

A shame it’s marred by ‘stupid’ posting again. I’ve reported and flagged, but otherwise I think foul posts are best ignored. 😶

Morning all/afties @Pat E. Have you had a good dose of rain now, or still need a wee bit more?
I managed to forget to say congrats to all with anniversaries yesterday. Do we need to speak very quietly this morning.... ;)
He's a clown @Dovefromabove, and needs to take a good look at himself. Changing names [especially to something offensive] to annoy folk on a gardening site isn't remotely clever or amusing. Quite sad really, but I'm all out of sympathy after that other one recently.
Glad the meeting was good  :)
Lovely day here too. Chilly start again, but sunny. I'm going to be sensible and do the wee hill at the windfarm. Leg is still sore, so The Brack [my intention]  isn't the best idea. Frustrating, but the hills will still be there...

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
