    The house smells rather nice. Aldi had a special on chicken thighs, so I’ve got a pot of chicken soup bubbling away. It helps that my lovage plants have survived the winter under some bubble wrap in the garden. Lots of other home grown herbs contributing to the lot. Toasted Turkish rolls tonight with chicken soup. What more could you want? 😜 yum.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
    @Jacquimcmahon 🐈  🐁 🤣
    I had my flu jab yesterday and have another exciting day planned today. We’re driving to Burghley to meet with niece and boyfriend and have a walk and a picnic in the park. I have made pasties ... they’ve been untouched by humans hand since coming out of the oven and they’re individually wrapped in foil. We’ve also got some individually wrapped pots of fruit. Niece says they’ll bring something too. She’s very keen that we meet this boyfriend ... 😃

    @Pat E ☔️ 😊 chicken soup sounds good too ... OH bought a chicken home from the shops yesterday for Sunday, so we’ll be having soup one day next week too 😋

    @D0rdogne_Damsel good news about the chef 🤞

    @Obelixx hope Possum is beginning to ‘chill’ 😎

    I just realised that I wrote thighs. I meant drumsticks.  Need that bone!   It’s almost time for dinner.

    @Dovefromabove - thanks but not really.  I think she's clinically depressed - bouts of sudden tears, inability to make decisions - but having the dogs and cats for cuddles and entertainment is definitely making her smile and laugh occasionally and, @Hostafan1, she has really taken to Owain the Suit on BBC North West weather.  Just wait till she sees the gorgeous powder blue job he was wearing this morning.   Need to get her in a positive frame of mind.

    @D0rdogne_Damsel if the new chef is good and settles well maybe get him to introduce some of his own recipes as the seasons and menus change so he feels more engaged and thus more likely to stay.

    Right then, I'm off to investigate a hen rescue site to see when I can get 5 hens and then I need to alter the waistband in a pair of her trousers and finish the last twiddles in the goat shed so it really is a hen house.

    Morning all/afties @Pat E. I've got some stock on the go for chicken soup too. Can't beat it  :)
    We had ice cream the other night. First time in ages. I rarely eat it, yet I love it when I have it. We had a cheeky wee fish supper first as well.
    @Jacquimcmahon - I'm just wondering what you've given the cat.... :D
    Enjoy your day @Dovefromabove. Hope the weather stays fair.
    Misty here, but it's clearing and brightening now. I had to relent and put the heating on for half an hour. 7 degrees when I got up.
    I'm hoping to go a walk today, and I had a massive cramp in my leg when I stretched just before I got up. If it doesn't sort itself I'll need to go tomorrow. Bummer.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Morning all,

    Stupidly early track session done but I can't see them continuing for much longer as it gets colder, wetter and dark!

    Looks another good day for staying in the garden, which is probably the only place I'll be allowed to go by the end of today  :o

    Morning. The sun is trying to burst through here. Off to do MIL shopping soon then to tackle some garden jobs.

    Happy Anniversary @Jacquimcmahon - it’s ours today too! I will keep in mind your litter box gift solution if my hubby steps out of line!

    Have a pleasant day all.
