@Yviestevie - no need to be sorry for having a rant. Perfectly justified IMO, especially re SIL. Just more controlling behaviour  >:)
Difficult for the girls too. It's all very well assuring Merri about everything, but children get understandably worried in all sorts of ways.
Love to you all - and enjoy a little bit of outdoor escapism x
    @punkdoc -that's lousy re your mum  :(
Dried up here, although the high winds are still there. Managed a walk without getting wet. Always a bonus. There's been serious rainfall a bit further north and west [Argyll] so more gloom for the R and BT road. We've only had some minor flooding around here - the usual bits which disappear fairly quickly.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Afternoon. Mixed fortunes and mixed weather from you all.
Punk - the wardens/carers should document when they check on people surely. A once a day check-in is hardly asking for the moon on a stick. Hope your Mum is ok anyway.

Lovely weather here. Going to finish reading a book under the parasol this afternoon, as I can’t hear any kids/lawnmowers/power tools just now.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

Glued to the screen watching Le Tour again, but I must ask if Obelixx and DD are ok. The virus seems to have got a spurt on in France today.  Anyone heard from them?

Hugs to you @Yviestevie you really need them. I feel all I I do is come on here and moan as well. It's hard to find positives sometimes but I'm sure they are just around the corner. Such lovely friends with good advice.   B)

Been a glorious day here. Managed a painting stint amongst a bit of cricket, football and general faffing in the garden. Decided to add a dark corner to the list. Can't see the fence from the house or most of the garden but it will bug me if I don't paint that bit as well. It's a saga that could run and run!!!  :o

"Strike" on the way accompanied by a nice, cold beverage  ;)

Hope you all have had a productive and/or enjoyable Sunday.

  • Good evening all. 🙂

Sorry been AWOL, been a tricky few days, had a bit of a meltdown with all the pressures at work, long hours, over-tired, frustrations of wanting everything to be perfect and not having the man-power to make it so. Anyway, felt sorry for myself for a couple of days, then put my big girl pants on and pulled myself together. I've had to go into work and play the big bad boss, hire and fire (hateful responsibility) make a few big decisions and now have to follow through. CdeG was supposed to be a quaint little Tearoom in rural France but has taken on a life of it's own, victim of it's own success as it were. I'm really not trying to show off, but just to explain the dilemma, in August this year we took more money than we took in the previous 6 months prior to lockdown, with just one extra member of staff, it was like being hit by a train - of expectant tourists - with ridiculous demands and expectations. Anyway, we're all fine now, I've got new staff being trained up for next year, I've got existing staff tuned in to new expectations and more importantly, I've got a gardener! There's been a lot of tears shed this week, but my plants have a chance of survival. 😅
Anyway, no time to read too far back but @Yviestevie, I've found so much solace in this site with all my mini crisis I'm sure you'll receive the same non judgemental support, rant away.
@punkdoc, sorry to read your tale, really, really not acceptable. 😠
@fairygirl - you're my hero, feisty as they come.
@Dovefromabove steady away, sensible & steady as a rock, so kind.
For those suffering with family woes ( @floralies ) big hugs.
Saving grace this week was farmer gracie bulbs, something to look forward to. Also booked a holiday with Charlie for half term, up near @Obelixx, maybe we could meet?

6 cases of Covid19 in our town - bit scary, but contained - a nurse came back from a wedding with it apparently, spread it around the hospital!
Anyway, love to you all, @chicky, @Hostafan1, @Pat E  etc.
