Last night was warm ... back to just a sheet on the bed until about 2am ... the sky was full of stars and we opened the blinds and stargazed for a few minutes until we fell asleep again.
Hmm restrictions are to be stricter again and probably just as well ... we had hoped to meet up with niece and boyfriend next week before she starts uni but although a picnic for four wouldn't contravene the rules we’re hesitant to do our first ‘social outing’ for months just as the rest of the country is being extra careful, even if it the possibility of us having had COVID-19 back in Dec/Jan is now seeming even more likely, as there’s now evidence of the first death in the UK having been in Jan.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all, just dipping in. Youngest daughter's blokes Birthday today. Carrot cake in oven. Rather cross, ordered a (toy) Ferrari for the top, should have been here last week, not arrived. I think a lot of these places on e-bay, are out of stock and rather than tell you that at the outset, say "Oh, it must have got lost in the post", ge refunds OK, but that's not the point.Tomrrow is eldst daughters Birthday, OMG she's 50, does that make me b*****y old!!!
Morning all/afties @Pat E. Lovely tree pic. Nature doesn't get trampled down too easily does it? Loved your kookaburra yesterday too. Not quite so exotic here, but the bullfinch seems to have made himself at home. Hopefully he and his missus will stay. Good rescue job @Busy-Lizzie - fawns often get separated a bit. Mum probably wasn't too far away. Glad all went well @Yviestevie. The children will adapt more easily than the adults. Hope the weather is fair enough for you to enjoy the garden. x Not bad looking here after some high winds and rain overnight again. There's some big dark clouds around, but washing will need to take it's chances.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I'm planning on sorting out the pigeonnier today which is a small stone building that I use as my garden shed on the flower garden side. There are a load more flower pots and some broken garden tools and rotted gloves etc in with the good tools. It's pokey and dark so I don't spend time in it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I despair. People who want to kill everything. A current thread about toadstools. I officially give up
