I understand @chicky. The fire, in particular, is a problem.
You'll need to get the paintbrushes out in spring  :D

I've got some brushes that you can have!  ;)

Just finished today's stint. Nearly finished all the masonry - just got to wait for the end of the peas to get to the last bit of wall. Kept threatening to rain with a few spots so I didn't bother getting the fence paint out. Sunnier tomorrow hopefully  :D

  • Just taken in the latest SM delivery, I have been trusted to wipe it all down & put away all by myself  :# while OH is at a GC with her Daughter (the one who's house is a wreck at the mo).  I though it would be good for them both to have a bit of retail therapy and the GC has a sale on at present. They are a bit pile it high sell cheap but we have had some real bargains there in the past & no1 D still has a large garden to fill when the builders finally sort the inside of her house out.
I know I am going back several days @Fairygirl but you asked about takeaways for the family, they would be great but just to add to their woes this lot are allergy central, with everything else going on it's much safer for us to cook for them at least we know what's in it.

I was making a bit of a joke @Allotment Boy, but I know only too well, as my daughter can't tolerate red meat. Very difficult isn't it? We're not even too bad, as that's really the only thing, although dairy doesn't sit well with her either. I just tell people she's basically allergic to cows.  :)
We went out and braved B&Q. No r*ddy wood suitable for my pond edging, so I've had to compromise a bit. It's been driving me nuts that I couldn't finish it off, so at least that's a project for the next dry day - which may be a while. We also went to the cheapo shop in the hope that they'd have the sunflower hearts, and they did. It's a good price.
The blackbird was in yesterday, digging up stuff, including my tray of foxgloves seeds, and today he was having a go at the corner by the shed.
There's clearly something very tasty there, as I discovered when I went to put the sunflower hearts in it.... :D

I was going to brush it up, but I reckoned that, like Arnie, he'd be back.  ;)

  • @Fairygirl I had guessed you were teasing but though it's not their fault bless em it does make life difficult at times. The worst one is one of the twins who has a severe peanut allergy, cant even be in the same room, let alone anything contaminated with them. The others are intolerance's so not life threatening but difficult all the same. Ever tried getting a stock cube that does NOT have celery in it?

  • @Allotment Boy you do know that Marigold Organic Swiss Vegetable bouillon vibes are celery free don’t you?  They’re the only ones I know of.

I used to work with some youngsters with multiple allergies ... really difficult I know do I feel for you all.

  • Morning Dove,  chilly start here! Awake early not for work for once! Haircut day!!! Hurrah!!!
Off to Laxfield to see my hairstylist that has been shielding and is only seeing other cautious shielding folk.  Always cut my hair myself usually as its wavy and I tie it up so doesn't really matter.  But felt like a treat this time.
Much coffee needed, first one didn't touch the sides!
  • Enjoy your treat @WonkyWomble ☕️ ☕️ ☕️
