I’ve just watered the chillies ... the Apache and Blue Christmas have been fruiting for ages ... the Carolina Reaper has just started producing fruit ... be afraid, be very afraid 🌶🔥😱🥵

    Morning all/afties @Pat E.
Hope mum is ok @punkdoc.No rushing to see her remember...take it easy.
I haven't grown chillies in donkey's years. Do you have them outside in summer @Dovefromabove? I don't think I can do that - they'd need to be inside here, like the toms.
Slightly better looking day here, but still wet and breezy. Tomorrow is to be really bad again, especially overnight, with more gale force winds and heavier rain. I'll try and arrange some better stuff for doc....
At least I managed a better sleep last night.

  • They’re in the studio @Fairygirl ... and on good days the whole glass wall slides right back so it’s been almost like being outside for a lot of the time since May ... we still have it open a lot ... the ones in the pic are Blue Christmas.
We’ve only ever grown a few Apache and Cayenne before but I think we might have got the bug ... we’ve been cruising the chilli seed sites looking at varieties for next year ... the milder but tasty ones mainly ... we didn’t choose to grow the Reaper but a friend gave us several seeds from their chillies but didn’t remember which she’d given us until later. Not sure what we’ll do with the Reapers ... might ask @WonkyWomble and her Lovely Hub if any of their friends like their Jerk really really hot 🥵

I thin those might attract the Grim Reaper if I gave them to the girls..... :D
It's strange - they like curries etc more than I do, but youngest gets very upset if I have the chilli quite 'warm'. They have a threshold I think....  ;)

    How's things @Hostafan1?
Neil Oliver is just talking about Lewisian gneiss on the  radio. Wonderful stuff up in our north west Highlands. Quite unique :)
