Good Morning Island, Ante, Rosie, LB, Debs and all to follow,
Island Wonderful that you were able to catch sight of the meteor’s and to hear them just goes to show how quiet it is for you.
Ante Thank you. I hope you have a good tour around town with your friends from Hungary if it’s very warm a few pubs might be necessary to cool off. That’s a lovely harvest and what a pretty flower the Pomegranate has,
Rosie I hope all goes well for your appointment today, is this the one that was previously postponed? Keeping my fingers crossed for you,
LB Shame the clouds interfered with your view last night, hope you have a nice day ahead any plans for you today?
Debs sorry to hear it was a rotten night for you, hope you have a quiet day at work,
I have wet things on the line, they are drying very quickly at the moment so that’s good.
Hope it is a good day for everyone.

I hope all goes well with the appointment Rosie. Debs, hope work runs smoothly. Heat can make everyone stressed. I actually slept quite well last night - I did have my fan on again all night but I suspect it has a lot to do with several weeks of broken nights and sheer exhaustion. SGL, so glad you had a happy day yesterday.
Chive its a 'garden until it gets too hot to think' day for me. My all singing all dancing new laptop is being picked up today (between 09:46 and 10:46) because it has ceased to function! Tee hee. These things are sent to try us. The firm involved are brilliant so I'm not particularly worried. As a geekess I have plenty of back up gear!

Morning. Another sleep deprived person here. Was very hot and sticky last night and the air was heavy and oppressive all day. One or two fat drops of rain but no more.Today is forecast to be as hot as Friday with no rain in sight.

We’ve now been asked not to water gardens / fill paddling pools etc. Not so much because of a water shortage but because they can’t meet demand (hot weather and so many people stuck at home) and areas are suffering water outages. We’ve certainly had reduced water pressure a few times in recent days.

Ante - you’re doing well with your harvests despite the conditions. My peas have gone over now - they don’t like the heat and drought - but the raspberries and tomatoes are doing well. Need to sow some more lettuce & coriander but I’ll have to wait until next week when it cools down - neither will germinate in such extreme temperatures.

Are you enjoying Line of Duty LB? Such an excellent series - BBC at it’s very best. We started watching on the TV but couldn’t wait & have switched to bingeing on iPlayer - 2 episodes a night. Half way through S3 already! It’s the third or fourth time we’ve watched it but each time we pick up on a new connection / nuance we missed in previous viewings - particularly in relation to clues about the involvement of different characters.

A day of paperwork & food prep beckons in the cool of the house. Have a good one folks!

Hello T'Bird. I really feel for you and your poor gardens at this time. I have suggested to a friend that she could try putting lots of water into the fridge to chill down and then fill her (hot) water bottle with this cold water and try that in bed to cool down. I have watched LOD so many times, and like you I pick up on things missed in earlier viewings. I can watch this forever. I cannot wait for the new series. Martin Compston was on TV the other day and he was saying how much he disliked the woolly jumpers he was made to wear. Needless to say I have been playing 'spot the jumper' since seeing the interview.

    Hello all!
I'm back home from the town. It's so hot and I'm all wet. Wind don't help to much.

LB, there are not even one Italian group this year. They suffered so much from this virus and many travel agencies are closed. I spoke with some people from Italy and some of them lost everything over night. Especially those who works in travel agencies and with tourist.
I were with my friends and we were only five so we didn't break any rules about crowding.

I'll take some rest before lunch time and I need a lot of cold water.

Phew. I'm done! Ante, we are never happy with our weather are we? We complain when it rains and we complain when there is too much sun. It does give us a topic for conversation though and we can all joke about it later. I feel desperately sorry for anyone who has lost their business through this pandemic. At least you had time to have a nice catch up with your friends. Stay cool! (if you can!)
Finally my Bokashi bin has started to produce some lovely liquor so I was able to drain it off and dilute it to water my plants in pots. The rest I have added to my water butt and mixed well so that there will be feed each time I use it.
Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly Hazel. Have a rest.

Hazel I hope you feel better soon and the cramps subside.  A sunny day today and so warm.  Alfie’s doing some shade bathing, rather sensible of him.
