Morning SGL, Ruby, Chive, T'bird and Rosie.
Good news for me. Friends choose to go on small trip with boat, so I'm free till tomorrow.

LB, I love to watch dolphins and would like to watch whales, but from shore. I don't feel safe on open sea.

T'bird, good luck with a dentist appointment.

Morning Rubee, yes anytime will do 😊 ☕️
LB wouldn’t it be fantastic to watch Whales. Your friends visitor looks very comfortable there,
Rosie so pleased you are getting some sleep now, it is slightly cooler today thankfully,
T’bird I hope you are able to get your tooth seen to. You have the perfect arrangement with your neighbours kitten,
Off to see mum now, have a good day everyone.

Chive and Ruby, no mice spotted for the last two days. Fingers crossed I've seen the last of them. I have fixed stainless steel mesh over the airbricks I THINK may have been the point of entry. I am waiting a week before I will breathe easy.

I used to push screwed up foil in the holes. Oh and with a  rat hole, an old tin can worked well.  Any rodent that gets in here with my mob of cats deserves a medal!
  • Feels hotter than ever here. Due to reach 26 they say. And so dazzlingly bright.

Back from the nurse all togged up with PPE and me in my mask.  LB Alfie’s is good, he’s enjoying his time shade bathing and laying sprawled on the sofa.  Chive enjoy your trip to mums.   Hazel hoping 23 feels better soon and regains some colour.

Hoorah Ante. A whole free day! You can chill out now and enjoy the freedom. My favourite wish on my bucket list is to swim with dolphins. That would be so good. Chive enjoy your visit with your Mum. Lots of good gossip. Sorry to hear that 23 is poorly Hazel. It sounds like he's picked up the bug you had.

Glad to hear you're feeling better Hazel, but sorry that little 23 is feeling poorly now.
LB my eldest son and his wife swam with dolphins on their honeymoon. The photos are amazing.
Chive, have a lovely time with your mum. She'll be so pleased to see you. As Hazel says, make the most of every moment.
Rubee, I'm with you.....fancy another cuppa😉.....just going to have another ☕☕

The temperature today is much more bearable, but it's a bit cloudy. But at least we should be able to sleep tonight.

Managed to get a cancellation appointment at the dentist. The receptionist warned I would have to pay an emergency appt fee and they are doing no treatments which generate aerosols but, when I got there, the dentist did a full repair / filling (lots of drilling and spraying!) and I was charged the normal fee for the job. Suffice to say I am both pleased and relieved!

Rosie - I can't quite decide whether seeing dentists (in your case a nurse) in full PPE is alarming or reassuring.....

It is very pleasant out - about 20C cooler than last Friday and everybody was moving with a bit more get up and go. The dentist is situated in the really old part of Bury St Edmunds near the abbey ruins. There were plenty of tourists out and about and the cafes were really busy. Nice to see.

LB - glad to hear Lily has made a good recovery. Has your sister(?) come back from France yet or will they have to quarantine? Hope they had a good time.

No news on the printer delivery - it's now getting beyond a joke and most unlike the regular customer service from John Lewis. It's a third party supplier and courier who they have little control over which probably explains it. Just had another 'firm but fair' conversation with JL. They're getting back to me with an update from the courier in the next hour. Seriously considering just cancelling the order if they can't give a definite delivery date.

I am a sweaty wreck! (You really wanted to know that didn't you?) Its steamy outside. I've done some weeding, picked the last of my peas and sussed out a planting spot for my youngberry - this was supposed to be delivered in October. Opened my front door and there was this mysterious package in clear view of everyone. Took me by surprise! No knock on the door from the courier and despite my instructions given to the seller about where the courier was to leave the package i.e. out of sight at the top of the drive, zilch. Anyway, its here and I'll deal with it either later today when it cools down or tomorrow morning.
T'Bird, so pleased for you that you got your tooth sorted. I am tempted to call my Dentist to see where they are up to. Friend with the visiting feline told me that her Dentist has closed - permanently - and she has had to find another one. She has found one, which is lucky. That printer story is very annoying and oh so easy for JL to pass the buck and blame the supplier. Fingers crossed the firm talk has worked wonders.
