    Night night everyone
  • Yvie; praying here. Which I believe in totally and fully..  And grandparents are a huge resource especially for the children in a situation like this, being close enough but not directly involved, so stay steady!

Agree re the exam results.( former secondary teacher here)  But then the whole world is covid crazy so all we can do is pick up the scattered pieces? Another year next year.

Not doing well here. These night and early hours are all I can manage usefully. I have M.E to a disabling degree and most drs here have never heard of it ( I am serious! ) And they have no idea re treating it etc. What we in the M.E world call the AITM brigade. ( All in the mind. NOT!)  It is a major systemic organic  and disabling disease.    My emergency excursion to hospital was a total nightmare and it caused an M.E "crash." which is long to clear . Not nice! So I am rotten company these days but care deeply. Also a cartilege has torn in one knee... Ah well! But during the day I barely make sense. Literally.

But I am used to this over many many years so do housework etc at 3 am ish , feed the cats, and then retreat with laptop and knitting. The heat even out here is .. stultifying, This unit is aluminium, insulated against cold but retains heat.

Much the same as all of you are enduring. so standing together.

Managed to tidy the front patch yesterday which cheered me. Just doing the small things I can do. Routine!  All is well, really it is. We survive by adapting.

    Stay cool and well...
  • Oh it clouded over the second Perseid night. Wish I had been able to stay out that first night but my memory of that first night is strong and full. Then early yesterday a welcome deluge.

Good morning Island and all to follow.

Island, sorry to hear that you don't feeling well. Take a rest with knitting and stay inside while it's hot. We have clear sky last few days, but I saw only few meteorites. Last year was much better.
Can you please explain me what does it mean "secondary teacher"?

I'm done with watering my garden and feeding all cats. My friends want fish from grill, so I'll be preparing that on this heat. Afternoon is reserved for cottage and garden.

Strange things are happening this year. We never had whales in Adriatic sea but this year they were recorded three times.

    This was yesterday.

Good morning Island and Ante and all still to come. Good to see you. Hot and sticky here too Ante. Sorry to hear that your ME is still taking its toll on you Island. Ante a secondary school teacher is one who teaches children within the 11-16 age range (like myself). Children from 17 through to College/University are usually regarded as being in higher education.

Hello Ante, yes you can indeed. I have to say Ante, that the thought of cooking anything in this heat is not a good thought. Salads are the answer. Ha ha!

Enjoy watching rugby LB. We all know how you like it. Usually don't cook when it's so hot but this is special circumstances.
