Morning LB, Ante, Island and all to follow. Aww, another very hot night and not much sleep. Still no rain or storms. It's very dark out there this morning and I have the lights on, so maybe today's the day for the rain and storms to arrive. Need a cup of tea, muzzy head. See you all later
Good Morning Island, Ante, LB & Lily and all to follow, Island nice to see you, sorry to hear you are enduring so much pain and discomfort, I admire your resolve to keep going that can’t be easy, Ante Amazing to see the footage of the whales in the Adriatic Sea, I wonder what has attracted them this year. Enjoy an afternoon at the cottage after cooking your fish this morning, LB pleased for you that your beloved rugby is back on, you’ll enjoy watching the games. Hope there have been no more mouse sightings indoors, Lily Hope you see a break in the weather today, we had some rumbles of thunder and a few flashes of lightning last night but no rain. As LB said salad is the way To go .Lily get some rest today .Chive it’s cuppa time for me too . Come to think of it anytime is cuppa time for me .😊LB I too hope that you haven’t any mice today .
Thats me all scrubbed and polished and ready for the day. I meant to say Ante, the sight of those whales must have been tremendous. Whale watching is on my bucket list. I would love to see them. I could watch them all day.
Ay up Ruby, you got cut off in mid sentence!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning - a much cooler day forecast & it looks as though we may have had a short shower overnight - hooray. We need so much more.
Local farmer on the news last night saying he thinks this drought is as bad as 1976. I’m not sure that’s actually the case (I remember 1976 very well - I revised for and sat my A-levels in unbearable heat) - but he did say that the soil is dry to a depth of at least 2 feet and the cereal harvest is down by a third. No wonder the front garden under the huge ash tree is struggling so much.
Ante - lovely images of the whales. Hope all goes well with your meal.
Island - sorry to hear you’re struggling so much. I thought they’d identified what is going wrong with the body when somebody suffers from ME, so it is rather disappointing to hear of doctors dismissing it as AITM.
LB - I won’t be joining you on the rugby sofa but it’s nice to share your enthusiasm. How is Lily getting on? One of the young twins from next door has started coming across for a bit of a cuddle and a play with long bits of grass. He’s a year old but still very small and kitten like. All the fun - none of the vet’s bills😏
My first job for today is to try to get a dentist appointment. The front of one of my molars dropped off last night and I want it checked out. Suspect it may need a crown😣 I’d like to see somebody today but sod’s law says J L will also try to deliver the printer today...Typical!!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Chive and Ruby, no mice spotted for the last two days. Fingers crossed I've seen the last of them. I have fixed stainless steel mesh over the airbricks I THINK may have been the point of entry. I am waiting a week before I will breathe easy.

LB let’s hope your mouse problem desists and they go elsewhere. The stainless steel mesh may have been just the thing. Ante interesting re the whales, I wonder if there will be more sightings. Island I hope your ME problems desist and you can recuperate. Topbird hope you can get your tooth sorted. It’s a little cooler today, thankfully, I managed to sleep for a few hours. Ante enjoy your fish.
Morning T'Bird, you snuckered in there. I, too would like to get a dental appointment but as mine is just the 6 monthly (and the rest now) scale and polish there is no chance. I hope that you manage to get sorted. Lily is back to normal now thanks. She has actually found the heat too much at times but apart from that - fine. Lovely that you get a visitor to play with. The lady I take to Canasta has a regular visitor too. He has made himself quite at home.
