Greetings all.  I've had a lovely lazy morning dozing and reading in bed and catching up on missing Zs form a few broken nights.    We've had rain overnight and this morning so it should be easy to plant bulbs and PSB and cavolo nero this pm so it can be thoroughly rained in tomorrow - assuming the forecast doesn't change again.

It's great that your daughter has finally made a stand @Yviestevie but sad that it's come to that and I do hope it goes better for her now.  Good that MIL and FIL have backed off.

Sounds like a good day @floralies.   Have you had some rain?

Good to see you @punkdoc.  Bedraggled is better than flattened.

Hope Chicklet is settling well @chicky.   We have the whole removals thing coming up next month and will have to do it in parental shifts.

Happy gardening everyone, or whatever you're up to today.

Hello folks, I'm just waiting for little Sis to arrive, house all clean and spotless, also disinfected everywhere I can think of. OH has mended the shower attachment but I think we will need a new one soon. No idea what make though.
Good luck @Busy-Lizzie, is somebody going with you? Very exciting.
Headaches horrible at the best of times @AuntyRach
Good to see you pop in @Punkdoc, hope you're recovering fine.
@Yviestevie, hope your daughter gets through this, there is life on the other side as I found out. Also had a controlling husband so I know what it's like.
Lazy morning sounds good @Obelixx - I well remember all the toing and froing to Uni digs, wouldn't like to have to do it again. I've moved my daughter several times and never again!

Anybody else I've forgotten, enjoy the rest of the day. We've actually got sunshine here and it makes all the difference.

No rain down here @Obelixx since our storms the other night after the canicule.
I have spent all day trying to sort out my passport renewal. It seems you need a code number with your photos if you do it online. No such thing as a code number here so have opted to do a paper form and send by post, well it's taken ages to find the correct form, doesn't say where to send it to and conflicting advice on fees especially from overseas. They tell you not even to bother at the moment as they are so far behind, but with so much going on with my family at the moment I don't want to leave it. It's not an emergency but I would like it!

Are you doing it thru this site @floralies? https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports

Our forecast has changed - again.  Midday tomorrow has moved forward to 2am tonight.  Works for me but so good for all the nocturnal critters.

OH is funny.  He's just told me that "that flowering plant" that was struggling is looking good now.    I'd planted 3 gazanias in a wee group and one turned out not to be the lovely creamy yellow with purple streak in the petal but a strong yellow with purple and then promptly curled up and died.  I replaced it yesterday with a healthy new one with the proper cream colouring.

I went for the second viewing on my own as OH is still in Norfolk. It will be me buying it as he already has his house in Norfolk. My offer has been accepted and we signed a paper to say so which I took to the notaire's office. French post round here is taking longer than usual, people say it's because of Covid.

The house is very pretty, built of limestone with blue shutters and Provençal sort of tiles on the roof. It has a bigger garden than I was thinking of but it is mostly grass and trees and a huge veggie plot. It is over less than a third, may be a quarter of the size of my current house so there is a lot of sorting to do. Three bedrooms, not big ones. But a big sitting room and a kitchen breakfast room. I loved it when I first saw it and so did OH.

Oh that's great news @Busy-Lizzie. I hope it all goes smoothly for you.  :)
The poor wee wifie next door to me is on her third set of offers from prospective buyers. She picked the wrong time to put it on the market unfortunately. A few weeks before the lockdown, and those buyers dropped out. She then had to wait until travel etc was reinstated, and the same thing happened. She has her fingers crossed for this set!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Great news @Busy-Lizzie.  It sounds lovely and much easier to manage.   The family will just have to bring tents if they want a mass gathering chez maman.   Lots of sorting to do now and some measuring so you know which of your furniture will fit.

I have managed to get all the saved bulbs back in the silk tree bed and have planted out my PSB.   Picked a courgette and some tomatoes and 2 mild chilli peppers to do a tray bake with our own onions and a bought pepper and some sausages.   Colourful!

Sounds wonderful @Busy-Lizzie .....very excited for you 😝😝😝

Lovely day in Bournemouth- forecast rain did not materialise so we went for a loooong walk beside the sea side.  Then Mr C and Chicklets went swimming (I looked after the bags, I’m not daft đŸ„¶â„ïžđŸŒŠ).  Then we “ate out to help out” 😇

Lovely to be so close to a beach, especially when the crowds have gone.  I hope she'll be happy there @chicky
