Well weāve had a bit of rain and a modicum of drizzle, now itās just dull, cool and mizzly. Iāve even put a cardi on. Iāll probably take it off again soon but itās the sort of day I like to feel snuggly.Ā
The landline phone battery has suddenly stopped charging ... I suppose we have had it a while ... probably 8 or 9 years ... Iāve ordered another.Ā
Ā Apart from organising that itās been a lazy afternoon ... but Iāll soon start assembling the Saturday pizzas .., I made the dough for the bases and the tomato goo this morning.Ā
Gardening in Central NorfolkĀ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Afternoon all,Ā Sorry to hear about the pub incident @Chicky hope Chicklet is OK.
We've been looking after the boys today for a few hours.Ā Secondborn popped to her friends for a coffee to update her on the latest situation and her Hubby has driven up to the lakes to talk to his mum and dad.Ā Not an easy task as his mum has stage 4 cancer.Ā Secondborn has put a deposit on a rental house and is planning how to make a second home for the boys.Ā Everything is civilised at the moment and I just hope it stays that way and they can sort things out so the boys are happy.
Got a bit of gardening done this morning before the boys arrived, moved quite a few pots and removed some cosmos that didn't 'sit right' in the border now that Helenium Lemon Queen has started to flower.Ā Have a good weekend everyone.
It's made of cardboard so will degrade and add to the planting medium above the grave.
Hmm 𤨠many years ago āsomeone who shall be namelessā thought it a good ideaĀ to use an old plastic Ā fertiliser bag for a shroud when interring a puss cat who met with a traffic accident. Ā A couple of years later he forgot that spot in the garden had been āusedā and decided to dig Ā a hole to plant a lilac bush .... not a good idea š„“

Damp start hereĀ too but made a trip to plots & ended up staying till 4pm, dull humid but dry. Surprisingly even after the rain the soil was dry underneath the potatoes I was digging. Best wishes to chicklet @chicky I hate that kind of thing too no need for it -ever.
Glad you could get out and just relax @Busy-Lizzie and that you could see your boys @Yviestevie.Ā I hope it continues to go smoothly (as much as these things can) for your daughter and for them.
I'd have thought shoebox too @Biglad.Ā Ā I had to stop OH burying our cats in plastic bags @Dovefromabove but now he's OIC compost heaps he's a lot better at things like that.
I have been feeling bleary all day so all I have achieved is a lot of thinking, read The Garden, painted a door frame and sorted out the doggy cages for winter bedtimes.Ā They're 13 and 10 now and I'm thinking comfy beds in cages covered in our picnic quilt will be a lot cosier and more nest-like on cold nights than a basket open to any draughts.Ā The cages have been in the cave which has birds nesting this year so a lot of cleaning was needed.Ā We're going to have to make sure nothing else gets stored under that beam by the time they get back next spring.
Off to plant some more bulbs now while OH does a What'sapp chat with his brother and sister.Ā Ā They're all mad keen on sports so it'll be all cricket and football........
Chicken curry for dinner with lots of home grown veg - onions, garlic, beetroot, cabbage and tomatoes.
VJ day today.Ā There was a 99 yr old man talking to 100 yr old Captain Tom on breakfast television this morning. He had been a Captain in the Royal Engineers in Burma. My father was a Captain in the Royal Engineers in Burma. I wonder if they knew each other?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Yes - I've used them before but can't find one in the house! Had a big box from our recent new bathroom so used that. Just about within my DIY rangeĀ
