Afternoon all,  Much cooler here today we had a lot of rain overnight and another short shower today so the garden is much better.  I've been out deadheading and feeding plants this morning trying to get my head around everything.  Secondborn is off to see a house tomorrow regarding renting.  It's the second she has seen and says she is putting a deposit down on one or the other this weekend.  Still feeling very anxious about the situation and with Hubby going away next Tuesday I'm just hoping that everything will be OK.
Firstborn is busy taking calls from upset pupils who have had their A level results.  They have students who got A's in their mocks and predicted A's in their final exam who have been gived C's and D's it's absolutely crazy.  Lord knows how they have come to these decisions.

What they need is some well heeled parents to get together and engage a big name lawyer ... preferably one with children/grandchildren who’ve just got their A level results. 😠

Thunder down west from us at Cornelly last night had some rain but not enough, though the smell of the rain is lovely

For only the second time in the 9 years we've lived here. I left the bedroom window open last night.

@steephill it hit us .....rain in biblical proportions three times now.  However, it’s probably all running off at the moment as the ground is too dry to absorb that much that quickly.

A levels a horrible mess.  Feel so sorry for those caught up in it.  Have just created a cohort who will never vote Tory.  My friends off spring have been lucky - downgraded but accepted at their first choice Uni’s anyway.  Others will have their futures seriously altered by this mess, that is not of their own making.  Not sure “sorry” really cuts it 🙄

    Hello all,

Sad day today as the family pet rabbit was put down. He was a birthday present for daughter 2 in 2008 so he had a good innings in rabbit years. Still an unpleasant decision to make. He's going to be in the 3rd and final bunny grave in the back garden. Does he count as a soil improver?  :(
