  • Morning all,
Hot again here today, 38° I think forecast. 😎

We've got a Christening party today booked, but in the lower garden. They're having Celebration Afternoon Teas and want it to look very 'English". It's a French family but the father of the child is English. All his family were supposed to be there but unfortunately with Covid19 they're not coming now. It's certainly not going away is it. 🙁 So many repercussions, very difficult for families. I suppose when you finally get to see them it makes it a very precious moment.

The grass is suffering in the heat but in the main the flowers are ok, watering is very time consuming though and not desperately effective.
Anyway I must dash, hugs to everyone, I'll try and pop in again soon.

I don’t know how long it will last Hosta. Since we don’t have the goats anymore, there’s only the wildlife, such as Roos, wallabies and wombats, so they probably won’t use much. The biggest drain will be another long dry summer I suppose.

    a couple of photos.

    The river as well

Good luck with today @D0rdogne_Damsel ... sounds like a busy one ... how nice that the French part of the family are embracing the English side, even if they have to do it across la Manche 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇫🇷 🥂
and the gardens looking lovely 😊
Those dams look reassuringly full @Pat E Hurrah!

Great to see so much water @Pat E and love the rainbow photo.

It's cool here - low 20s - but we'll get hot again later.   I'm off to do early morning water of all the pts and newly planted bits and then retreat to the shade for the day.   OH is golfing, armed with Factor 50.

Our chillies are starting to ripen well too @Dovefromabove and an Apache livened up our tomato, tamarind and fish curry last night.   Yum.   An 8 stemmed canna sounds gorgeous.  Maybe I'll try them here after all.

Hope you can relax now @Yviestevie and enjoy having your family home.

    Stay safe and cool everyone.

I found a broken egg shell on our wander. I hope whatever it was, had hatched and was safely with Mum in a nest somewhere. 😳

Not so much the rainbow as the light @Pat E.  I love it when you get low sunlight on land and trees with a dark, heavy, lowering sky behind and the rainbow is the cherry on top.

Morning, OMG, how hot last night! Hubby went to bed me watching "The Wave", started lockiung up closing windows, after first episode had finnished, go into the conservatory, to close door, unbeknown to me (of course) he is laying on his recliner, he just said "Yes", as I walked by, screamed, swore, and ptractically dropped dead!!It was pitch dark, normally, I have a little stable lamp on watching TV, but the fan was plugged in there.  THEN I go to bed, he's in there, snoring like a rhino.  Said to him today, why didn't he just tell me what he was up to as he walked past!
