@Liriodendron get some ExAnts online ... brilliant stuff ... herbal and no. chemical ... they hate the smell and keep away from it. We used to have them under the porch step and homing up into the sitting room via the crack at the bottom of the skirting board ... have had mine indoors since we sprayed the area some weeks ago.

Night night everyone ... hope we can get some sleep 🛌 🚿

    Morning all.
Son and family have gone off for four days visiting other family, seems very quiet now. I'm off to daughter 1 at midday. Looking after their 3 boys while they go out for their anniversary dinner. I'll stay the night.

    Good Morning all
Extremely hot here yesterday. Not a great day to do ironing but had to be done so waited until night time.
Flatters has had to have blood  tests at the vets. Kidney concerns so hoping he's ok.
Brother away at friends so the house is really quiet!
Another day of trying to avoid the heat today! Coffee first! Then I'll be able to read back ams see what you have been up to....
  • The flying ants were seen on the weather maps and thought to be   a heavy shower at first as they headed for Ireland . The Irish Mirror has dramatic photos and advice. Horrible. I hope you find ways to prevent them invading.

I'm sure the seagulls will deal with them ... they've been half starved this year what with the shortage of chips and pasties earlier in the season.

    Morning all/afties @Pat E if you're there. Hope you're not too cold.
@Songbird-1 - plenty of rain, and not too hot either - and single figs last night  ;)
Nice today, but it'll be too hot for me later I think. Yesterday was fine with the breeze and such all day. I shall do a few bits and bobs, but there really isn't much to do.
Had a longer walk this morning. I was contemplating a hill, but the A83 is closed, and they're my 'go to ' hills when I haven't been out for a while. I think everywhere will be hoaching anyway, and I don't really want to drive for 2 hours if it's only for a small hill, or one I've done.
I think I'll wait until the novelty has worn off for these people, and they're all back at work and weans are all at school. Our schools go back tomorrow.
Interesting about the magpies @Liriodendron. I presume they eat them though? I've really never had a problem with ants, although I do see them now and again, trotting along with a bit of something to take home. The previous owner of this house left a container of ant powder, but I've never used it. They've never come in the house, apart from the one I brought in on me the other day  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Morning all. Just back from in-law’s shop and visit.
The sun has broken through now and it’s hot - will just have a cuppa in ‘it’ then shade is required.

    Have a lovely weekend folks.
My garden and I live in South Wales.
