Lovely here now that it's brightened up. 13 degrees @Hostafan1. I can hear you crying :D
I sometimes put the heating on for half an hour in the morning, but it's fine after that.
Nice to have had a dry walk, and the shoes were almost dry from yesterday, so it's all good.
    Get him @chicky :D
Glad he enjoyed his outing. I hope he had fish and chips and ice cream too  :)
I can understand you needing rain @floralies. I couldn't live somewhere so hot and dry, especially when gardening is a major hobby.

Well, the rain hasn't arrived (yet), we have a Simpsons' Sky and it's nearly 20C  ... I've just hung a load of teatowels out on the line .......... of course, that means it'll rain any minute.  😂

Hello all, Although we had rain overnight, the morning was dry so I was able to complete my new (2nd) Leaf Bin which I'm pleased about as the leaves are already starting to fall. I'm not so pleased that I woke up with a swollen and painful little finger knuckle, have no idea why, can hardly bend it. In sympathy with Obelixx I suspect.
Hope your Soiree goes according to plan tonight DD. Great that your Dad enjoyed his day out Chicky and that you had a dry walk  Fairygirl.
Read the obit for Mark Ormrod yesterday and was interested enough in his book about Edward 111 book to order it online. It's about 700 pages (!) so that will keep me happy on holiday if it rains next month, although I'm liking the sound of a mini heatwave then.

@Fairygirl Great news that the runners are ready.  You can send them whenever you like.  Let me know re postage costs.  I've bought a couple of those bags that you can grow strawberries/veg in.  Never grown them before so I wondered whether I can plant them straight in the bag or do I need to keep them in the greenhouse over winter.  Also is a decent Multipurpose compost OK to grow them in.  Once again, thanks.

Hi @Yviestevie - no, they'll be fine planted out in your compost. :)
I wouldn't do anything special with them, and I often leave runners or small plants outside all winter here. If you get any rough weather, you can stick them against the house wall or similar, but they really need nothing.
I'll wait until Monday, [unless the P.Off is shut here for B.Hol ]  just so that they aren't sitting around at the weekend, and I'll let you know on here when I've sent them though.  :)

    Afternoon folks.
Been a busy week with funeral arrangements etc.
My Mum-in-law asked me to design and sort the funeral flowers so we have decided on an all white casket spray, with some greenery, using roses, lilies, larkspur and lisianthus - I think it will look elegant.

Enjoyed catching up on all your news. Treating OH to a steak dinner (well I’m having it too!) so will start the prep soon.
Have a pleasant evening and weekend to come everyone.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

I also think the casket flowers will look really elegant @AuntyRach, I like all white bouquets, hope you and MIL are coping well, funeral arrangements can be really stressful.
We're also having steak tonight plus wine as it's the start of the holiday weekend - although we won't be going anywhere!

    That sounds beautiful, @AuntyRach

Collected my car from the garage, they did a good job on the scratched paint work and it's been serviced.
Also been to the bins with a load more stuff, mostly gardening magazines and catalogues from 2012 onwards. Hardly started on the horse magazines.

Good lord Busy-Lizzie, what a job! Even I only keep my gardening mags for a year or two!
