    Morning all.
Good luck for tonight @D0rdogne_Damsel. Hope it stays dry for you.

I was woken by heavy rain at 6.30am.

After 5 weeks and 5 days to get my fridge freezer working: British Gas have just offered me £40 compensation !
I was very pollite and calm when I said " 6 weeks without a fridge freezer in the middle of summer , endless phone calls and I'm being offered the equivalent of £1 a day?? really?? "
They've collected another month's payment in the middle of all this too.

Cool & damp here too,  might have to put the duvet back on soon,  though the interwebs saying we are getting another heatwave in September.

Morning all/afties Pat if you're there.
I've had to close the bedroom windows at night @Allotment Boy. More single figure nights now.
That seems p*ss poor @Hostafan1. Bearing in mind that payment you get when you don't have heating for so many days etc.
@Yviestevie - the little strawberry runners are all good, so I'll send them whenever suits you. I'm having probs with PMs so just let me know on here. Fortunately, I wrote your address down  :)
Dry here which is nice after the last few days of almost constant rain. I've even hung washing out. Fingers crossed....
I might even get a totally dry walk. I'll go now before it's too warm for me.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I'm seriously considering putting the heating on.

I was with British Gas and their 'appliance cover' for years and with various 'other covers' for central heating, water leaks blah... over time ended up paying £50-£60 p.m. (£600-£700 p.a.). It had crept up slowly over the years and I'd just renewed each time without really checking or thinking about it. I stopped a few years ago (as I had enough money to cover emergencies anyway) and just saved the money into an 'appliance account' instead. So effectively self insuring. The only bijou snagette is that you have to find a repairer yourself should anything go wrong (and obviously have built up a savings pot big enough!) - but given your experience even that doesn't seem like too much of a hurdle eh?

Morning all. We are having some useful rain here at the moment, long may it continue, sorry if that's not the right thing to say to those who are sick of the sight of it! I have loads of tomatoes waiting to have "something" done to them so best get a move on. Have a good day all.

Liking the sound of a heatwave in September 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎

Visiting Dad today.  My sister took him out to the marina on Wednesday - first time he has left the house (other than for hospital scans) since January.  He was very happy, and posted a pic to prove it on Instagram 🤣.  He follows all the GC and they follow him back.  Means he can keep up with the various comings and goings in Australia and New Zealand.  They all think it’s hilarious that Grandad 👴🏻 is on social media 😀

Wall building got rained off yesterday afternoon, but lots of progress has been made.  We are going to run out of stone though, so need another load delivering.  Its looking great - and will look even better when I get planting 😜

I've got a tee shirt on under my shirt, and I've put socks on  :o

    Morning all.

Heatwave in September? If they're forecasting that far into the future, I'm tempted to batten down the hatches and prepare for the end of the world! I've noticed that "heatwave" seemed to get redefined this summer anyway. Assuming that they get it right for once, prepare yourself for one afternoon of pleasant sunshine next month.

Looking on the bright side though, any forecast delivered by Lucy Verasamy is fine by me  ;)
