I get prickly heat when I am in the sun too long.  Whenever I go abroad I alway take a daily antihistamine.  It stops the prickly heat and also stops any reaction if I get bitten.
Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

I had a hugely painful ankle bite in May. I couldn’t walk on it properly for days and the swelling was bad, with a lovely blister in the middle. My bite sounded like it was the Branford fly.
You ought to take antihistamines and use hydrocortisone cream.
    Here’s mine

Oh poor you! Be careful. The pain was something I’d never felt before, and I couldn’t actually put my foot on the floor or hold my weight on it. I’d never heard of this little critter before either.

Some people find doses of brewers yeast tablets daily help if they are constantly being bitten? Apparently it makes your skin smell unpleasant to insects.

Yes I remember it well @htyas , made the mistake of walking in a Scottish hillside  I counted 14 bites on one ankle and my foot looked just the same, took days to go down, and after I seemed more reactive to bites.
