@B3 that's a good idea! I caught chickenpox at 16 and was really I'll with it for about 8 weeks I couldn't walk and literally was covered the only problem was whenever they itched I put calamine lotion on literally everytime so ended up putting too much 9n to the point of when I finally managed to stand to have a shower they literally all fell off in the shower because if the moisture and when I got out I looked at myself in the mirror and just cried, the potholes that I was left with on my face and body was horrendous! Thanks god you cant see them too much now I'm alot older! My kids haven't had chickenpox yet but I think im just gonna pay and get them to have the chickenpox jab otherwise it will be too late they will all be too old! 🤦‍♀️

    Fire

I used to email random MPs on a regular basis  about ways to improve this country.

One of them was to "encourage " supermarkets who buy land and dont use it for years and large private land owners to  release blocks of land on a 5 year rolling lease to allotments , sports clubs and the like.

More grass , more exercise , more vegs etc

Apparently the UK produces just 50 % approx of our vegetables and fruit which means we as a country need to Import the rest at a detriment to the planet etc.

I met with our local Mayor in Bristol and he had a meeting with a supermarket manager but I heard nothing back.

In my humble opinion over the next 10 to 15 years we as a nation will need to "grow our Own " with the trade wars that will ensue.

Apologies if this is only marginally GW but something I am passionate about.
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.

Just remember that because its natural doesn't mean risk free. Always test tea tree oil and aloe vera first ( as I'm allergic to both) before large applications.
In the garden have a pot of mint, in the trouble spots, it seems to be a deterrent for mozzies, I have some near the seats and back door , and rarely have any inside. Won't help with the other biting things but thats the joy of gardening.🙄😁

@purplerallim that's what I thought about the mint, would it deter if in the garden! Obviously it does😊 and I know what you mean about all these products I've found out that I'm allergic to sudacrem! Slapped that stuff all over my huge swollen leg and it made it worse 🤦‍♀️
Oh well you live and learn🤷‍♀️

Cover with a bandage. A whacking big one if you have to. It will heal v much faster.

@NewBoy2 unfortunately I just dont have any faith in MPs sorting anything out to help make a better life for people, self sustaining and all that!
If It doesn't affect them, they dont care,  that's the generalised MPs moto! 😕

@Fire yes I did that last night and bunged a bag of frozen chips on it for good measure and this morning I have woken up finally to alot less swollen leg, it's still super itchy but I'm taking it that it is healing! Thank god😊
So thanks to everyone for all your awesome tips and advice!

My son has similar reactions.. so we do the antihistamines BEFORE going camping or elsewhere he is likely to get bit, plus bug spray (ASSS or Cutters Natural, etc.. or a Deet spray if that doesn't work).. and a cortisone cream on the bite as soon as it's noticed.. with repeat applications.  Bandaids help on smaller bites, especially with a large blob of cream.  A few larger bites I sometimes use a cold wet paper towel held on with a four inch chunk of old dense-knit tights.. if it's on his legs.  Keeps him from scratching and seems to give him some relief.  I've also taught him to tap the surface if it's itchy.. so he feels like he's addressing the issue (but not digging a hole in his skin).

@Blue Onion yes I'm definitely ordering in some anti repellant stuff from amazon asap hopefully with that the little biters might avoid me like the plague! 😁 and a cortisone cream is brilliant I've always got the stuff in my cupboard!
