Morning everyone, bit late its almost afternoon. Thank you Chive, I did sleep well although I still feel tired this morning. 🤣🤣 you're probably right, my brain hurt 😉 Very cloudy here this morning, but still very warm. We don't half natter, don't we,we're almost in the 90 mark already. We'll be on Res96 in no time. Yvie hope you're feeling better today. LB have a lovely day with your friend. Debs hope work goes well. Chive, hehe don't get lost. Rubee have fun in the garden. Hazel have fun with 23. Oh my fuzzy head....through tiredness not drink! 🤣🤣 Have a good day everyone take careÂ
Morning all, Thanks for all your good wishes, I'm just feeling very anxious at the moment over a few family issues, I'm fine. Firstborn returns from Menorca this weekend and Secondborn is coming home from the lakes. Think I'm looking after Jonah and Gabriel on Monday. Not sure what I'm going to do with myself today, nothing planned. Could never live anywhere where there is a large midge population. The gnats in the garden love me and I have to cover myself in insect repellant to garden this time of the year. Popped out yesterday, didn't intend to garden so didn't put repellant on. I was wearing jeans and a long sleeved top but still got 3 bites on my ankle. Enjoy your day everyone.
LB hope Lily gets something for her cough at the vets, poor thing they loath it.  Chive I hope Nel is well after her recent visit also.  Hazel It’s good mum will be getting some assistance. Island let’s hope the midges leave you be.  Yvie have a good day.  I have some i*****g to do.  Wishing you all a good day including people in the quiet corner.
The box of yarn did not arrive but the garden clogs I ordered on Ebay did.Â
And a frustration as a lovely card came from a lady who visited me a couple of years ago here. She thought I was not at home, the gate sign explains I am cocooning. She did not put her address on the card. I did not hear her so no way of seeing her even masked over the gate.
The sun has been swallowed up by the encroaching clouds and rain is on the way. Knitting pretty bright baby hats with oddments for our rescued babies in India so never idle and all is well ..
 stay safe; stay well.. Â
All but finished Hearbeat so am now starting to catch up on Casuallty from 2017 onwards.Â
Afternoon - getting very warm here and I so wish we could have some rain. Spent 2hrs watering last night (and I'll need to do the other half tonight) but it does nowhere near as much good as a downpour. My 25 year old hedge is definitely dead in places - the result of three years of high temps and drought-like conditions. I see huge trees and hedgerows curling up their toes in fields and other gardens as I drive towards town. It's all very sad and rather worrying.Â
On the plus side - warm summer evenings are a good excuse for glasses of long cool drinks and delicious ice cream....
Island - sorry you missed your friend - very frustrating. Good you have plenty of tv series to keep you entertained while you recuperate.
Yvie - thoughts are with you.
Hazel - glad you sorted something out for your mum - hope it works out.
LB - hope Lily is ok. They're such a worry and I would hate not to be able to accompany my pet into the vets. Harry used to spend the whole consultation with his head stuck inside my jacket. "If I can't see them - they can't see me" mentality.
Trying to catch up with emails and ordering a new printer this afternoon. SYL.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
NB I have no idea who the lady is who left the card.. My home is at the crossroads and many folk stop on their way from the ferry! Just wish she had put an address on the card.
Heavy drizzle out there now exactly as met-ie said there would be. They tend to be remarkably accurate.Â
There is a delay re yarn as some emails they sent did not get here.. Well, it is good to clear oddments.Â
Afties all. What a performance this morning. Minimal protest from Lily as she was put in the pet carrier. Get to the vet's car park, ring to let them know I've arrived. 15 minutes later the young vet comes out, asks questions about Lily. I explain and say that she has been treated before for the same thing so vet tells me she will refer to her notes. She then takes my little cat away from me and I'm left alone. Like you, T'Bird, I like to stroke and reassure whilst the vet is prodding and poking. 15 minutes later vet returns with Lily and I am relieved. I know that the last visit made me aware that Lily was a cat that would carry the cat flu virus all her life and periodically it would flare up hence this latest episode. The vet had used the usual antibiotics that do the trick and had also given her a long lasting anti inflammatory. Once I got home I paid over the phone and then shot off to Bestie's. Road was closed on one section of my route and I was diverted for miles through the countryside (near Rufford Old Hall T'Bird). Had a lovely time with Bestie and gang. We went for a walk with little Sofia round the estate, visiting the 'tickly tree' and watching in fascination all the bees on the various lavenders in the gardens. Sofia was particularly fond of the bees with 'little orange bums'. Coming home was OK as the road was open again and they had been doing the tar and pebbles road resurfacing. Lily must be feeling better already as her bowl from breakfast was empty - a most unusual occurrence. I don't feel such a rat now. I think I am forgiven
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Well done! Glad it went well and that you had such a pleasant visit afterwards and yes when they eat like that all is OK again! Â
Shopping arrived and all in etc. A couple of errors but ... the errors always cost more than my list item! Â
Wool order finalised. A dear friend in Texas covers that for us; emails Springwools. Email is awesome. Â Â Â Cats fed. Â
Oh I was very slow re the frustrated visitor, She will have come when I was in hospital, As she would have walked up from the pier and there are no neighbours there was no one to tell her.Â
Have a lovely afterevening. Being sat on by a HUGE black and white cat... HELP! Â
