The dogs hear the gas burners form a long way off and start to alert then bark as they get closer.  At our old house they sometimes barely skimmed the roof and occasionally landed in the field behind after it had been harvested so the dogs needed to tell them off.

They sometimes wake us up, firing the gas burners right over our house early in the morning, they need a bit of a lift to get over the hills opposite. I always remember the Balloon festival coming to grief in sudden high winds, some crashed into the chimney pots on the Georgian Marlborough Buildings whilst another came down inside the grounds of the MOD site and had to be rescued from inside the barbed wire fence.

They take off from close to here too, so we hear the gas burners lifting them over The Rise as we wake early on calm summer  mornings.

Very sleepy and looking forward to seeing @WonkyWomble tomorrow ... she says Doris passed her MOT and had a service and oil change and Wonky’s brother gave Doris a bit of a shine and valet so all is hunky dory on that front.

Evening everyone. Just come in after supper outside and marshmallows on the Chiminea fire - a lovely start to a long weekend off.

Sleep well and be well all.

Went ballooning over the Nile a few years ago.  It was amazing.

A beautiful night for ballooning. Four appeared tonight.

The last one above landed in the village last week. He is heading for the recreation ground visible in the bottom left.

We only saw three of them 🤣

The other one must have gone to the pub. I hear it is a very popular pastime these days :)

Lovely photos ofthe balloons. So much reminds me of summer. We had minus 3.5 this morning. Good weather for snuggling in bed a bit longer. 😃
