Oh I absolutely agree ... it’s trying to enforce the unenforceable.

The problem goes right back to BoJo’s desire to be popular and therefore not wanting to be seen as authoritarian 🙄

I am enjoying the irony of him getting the job he always wanted and thinking he was going to lead the country Moses-like full of happy cheering adoring fans, to the promised land of B****t ... and then finding that he had the most difficult job ever, where he needs to actually sort out complex problems and give clear orders that people may not like.

I’m enjoying more schadenfreude than I ever thought possible ... thank the heavens for my ability to find a silver lining.

I'm certainly not saying that a different PM or party in power would have made everything perfect, but furlough notwithstanding, the whole thing has been a shambles, and yet the blinkered / brainwashed still think he's doing a great job!!

It’s not just what the government has done/is doing ... some of which has been relatively effective and some less so ... it’s the manner and tone with which it is being done ... it’s setting the wrong tone for the public to follow ... hence the moral chaos. WTF did the Treasury think they were doing issuing  this statement?! https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/pubs-reopening-treasury-super-saturday-coronavirus-lockdown-a9597231.html
    That’s not the Treasury's job!!! 😡

And Boris’s father has gone to stay in his Greek villa despite Boris telling us we should only make ‘essential’ trips abroad.
and going via Bulgaria to avoid quarantine. ( a clear example of how easy it is to bypass quarantine )

Morning all. I feel brighter this morning and ready to face the day! It's good to have friends on here, thank you.
I saw Rees-Mogg on tv this morning urging people to buy a yard of ale and then they will know that they are social distancing, he has ordered his apparently, twat.
Washing is on but the weather doesn't look promising, cucumbers and courgettes to pick.
Have a good day all I hope the sun shines for all your outdoor activities!

Pretentious affectation of the highest order. One fears for the intelligence of those who consider him a credible MP.

    Morning all.

I'm so glad you are feeling more cheerful @floralies, you've had such a stressful time.

Rather a grey looking day today. I plan to spend it gardening. Going back to France on Saturday 11th so need to leave the house and garden here in Norfolk clean and tidy. The estate agents have told me that two people are interested in my French house, another viewing tomorrow. Just hope someone makes an offer. I think I will have a lot of clearing and sorting out to do when I get back.

Ooooh that sounds promising @Busy-Lizzie ... having two people interested often 'concentrates the mind'. :D

Good morning.  Woke up at dawn but fell asleep again around 7 so late on parade.  Feeling a bit stiff actually and I have triceps talking to me!   Nearly done with the heavy lifting tho.

OH enjoyed his golf team lunch yesterday but came home stuffed - nibbles with apéro, starter, mains, cheese and dessert.  He hasn't had a meal like that since February.   he's working it off today with his newly repaired strimmer.

Glad your feeling better @Floralies.  It's hard when you can't go round and help and hug.    Hope your new grandchild comes safely @Liriodendron and that your prospects become a firm sale @Busy-Lizzie.  The 3 months between Compromis and Contract will fly by so yes, loads of sorting and then, if the sale doesn't go thru as hoped, at least there's less clutter next time someone views and less to do.

I love lamb pasanda @Dovefromabove and will try the recipe soon but it's Thai style prawn curry for us this evening and veggie curries tomorrow.

See you later everyone.  Have a good day.  I'm off to potter and not going anywhere.
