Hello all. Just back from the SM run for the weekly shop. Everyone obeying the rules and wearing their masks. Much less busy than usual for this time of the year even with our July sales on, I guess there are far fewer peeps from abroad.
It's so hot out there today - like a sauna even though we had a storm last night, more storms promised for later today, I hope they clear the air a bit.

Sod's law says you'll sleep like a baby @Hostafan1!   We'll have another look tonight but our camera isn't up to taking photos.  Not enough zoom.

We have been out and bought 3 big bags of compost so I'm all set to sow seeds for white, purple and yellow flowered perennials for the new bed but we've decided, since we're clean, to stay that way and go for a stroll at La Tranche which will be full of tourists but will also, we hope, have sandals on sale for OH who has managed to split the sole on his.

I shall spend the intervening hour or two happily sorting seeds.

Good luck with the decorating @Liriodendron.   I still have Possum's room to finish but have been distracted by gardening.    Hasn't stopped me thinking about other projects for autumn and winter tho.

    Hello all,

I am having a day off - well sort of, had to see in a big delivery at 7:30 this morning and put it all away, then I watered the garden and put some plants back in that the cat had dug up, first time ever, she hardly ever moves off the chair normally.  :open_mouth:
Had to go and get fresh salad and bread, big queue in the shop, then as I got back another delivery arrived (earlier than expected) so finally escaped around 12:30.  :open_mouth:

Just had to sign a contract too for a film crew to come and film here on Friday, the programme is called 'A New Life in the Sun'. Apparently they are following a couple who have bought a business here and they think our new terrace is perfect for the interview backdrop. It will be shown in January.  B)

Whilst getting the salad I also managed to buy four big perennials, they were on offer, I am hoping they will fill the gaps left by the slugs on my terrace garden, lovely purple/blue hues. Just need to find time to get them in the garden when no one is there.

Anyway, now going to try and relax for a few hours.

Good day to all of you. :)

No plant sales here @D0rdogne_Damsel!!  Humph!   I paid 4€50 each for my geranium rozannes and scabious last week and this morning the "sales" at France Rurale were only on clothes.  They wanted 9€50 for slightly bigger geranium rozannes and 7€50 for a bigger pot of oenothera so I just bought one with 3 plants I can split and grow on.

Luckily my seed box in the fridge has lots of white, yellow and purples for me to sow, in trays in the cool of the potting shed.  Way too hot outside and positively tropical in the PT.

I do like the switch to watching North West news - lots of lovely Lake District scenery at the mo.

Oh dear @Obelixx - these were only in Lidl, Scabious, Verbena Bonariensis, Salvia and Platycodon, big size, healthy looking, 3.99€ each. :) I'll send a picture once I get them in the ground.

OK @D0rdogne_Damsel I'll have a look tomorrow.  Haven't been to LIDL in over a year.

Hello folks, been away for a few days, staying with my sister - haven't seen her since early Jan so it was good to catch up. She's a much better cook than I am! Not keen on her two dogs too much but we all took them for a long tramp around local meadows to walk off dinner. Went to Staunton Harold GC but didn't buy anything except tea and cake. Had to keep giving our contact details which was a bit of a pain but necessary I suppose. Most people were very careful.
Haven't read back as too many posts so hope everybody's well.

I'm the 4th person from France to post on this page! If it's still this page when my post lands.

We hardly had any rain here but it was cloudy this morning. Hot now, hope I sleep.

Have taken a painkiller, I'm feeling a little sore on the right side. Dentist son fitted a partial crown on left side, feels a bit strange but they usually do at first. But top, right, back molar lost a bit of ancient black filling so he's doing a partial crown there too. Lots of drilling and anaesthetic has worn off.

    House hunting tomorrow.

I hope your teeth settle down @Busy-Lizzie.   I need to see a dentist too but last time I tried no-one was taking new patients.

Hot here too and no rain in sight for days and we do need a good downpour, not a dribble.    Happy house hinting tomorrow.  Hope you see something you like and that feels right.

Feeling weary now so bed time in a minny after checking for the comet.

    Sweet dreams all.

Hope your teeth are more comfy now @Busy-Lizzie. I had a dental checkup scheduled for next week ... they confirmed it last week, but today they’ve sent a message that they’re sorry but they’re  having to cancel ... will I please phone in a month’s time to re-book. I don’t mind ... my teeth are behaving themselves at the moment and I don’t really want to go into the city centre if I don’t have to.

Night night all ... sleep tight ... 😮
