They do look yummy. Does he make his own pastry @Pat E?
Been to the vet with Rasta doggy again cos the wound on her shoulder wasn't healing and had developed a big black crust. Horrible hound had managed to get some dirt in it despite the daily cleaning routine so it's all been cleaned up, sterilised and she now has to have a different cream and a compress twice a day and not go out and get dirty again. Walkies OK but no free roaming round the garden.
The sticky bit to hold the compress in place was already loose by the time we got home so she now has a crêpe bandage wrapped around her chest and safety pinned in place. We'll see. No charge for any of this as it turns out he sews - shirts, trousers - and was impressed by my summer frock and matching mask. We had a long chat about all the bits involved in tailored trousers - more complicated than a lot of my jackets!

@Obelixx Summer frock and matching mask! I love it! I've been busy sewing up masks myself.. they are required in schools for our state.. and with me and the hubby both teachers, and two primary aged boys.. that's at least 20 masks! Assuming we don't go through more than one a day. (I usually only do laundry on the weekends).
I might have to whip up a back to school summer frock and matching mask, you've inspired me!
Hope your pup has a swift recovery. My lurcher is mostly greyhound and very thin-skinned. Every little run-in to the brush after a rabbit seems to always result in stitches or an open wound.. so I feel your pain for your pooch.
Thanks @Blue Onion. I've made masks for my daughter in Belgium and masks for OH and masks for me and, since I make my summer frocks and lots of tops and trousers, it's easy to dive into my stash of off-cuts and remnants and patchwork to make matching or toning masks. Too much washing is bad for the elastic and that's becoming scarce now so try steaming them over a pan of boiling for a couple of minutes instead. That will sterilise them and keep detergents and fabric conditioners off the elastic.
Rasta is a woolly bear kind of terrier with a coat like a sheep's fleece which protects her from most things though it does pick up sticky buds and all sorts of bits when she's coming due for her haircut. How do you cope with a lurcher needing constant sewing up?

Golly @Pat E that's definitely a war wound! Congratulations to Moira @punkdoc and a promotion for you to tea boy. I have enjoyed an evening off and could have very well have employed a 'fly squatting boy' they are everywhere tonight.
I have been testing our new evening specials, Chateaubriand, with a locally made wine, Pechament, two different butchers, same price, one was good, the other exceptional, I know where we'll be buying it from. the wine went down very nicely too.

Been a busy day. The Diagnostics man came, nearest the French have to a surveyor. He tested for termites, lead, asbestos, electricity etc Spent 6 1/2 hours. Some of the sockets are rather old, a light is a bit to near a bath, no lead, no insects. Hope it's OK.
I did housework in obscure and difficult places to get at. This evening I babysat the 3 boys, no longer babies, oldest is 14. Daughter and her OH went out for a restaurant meal, not back yet.
Thank you @Liriodendron. I hadn't realised you hadn't sold your Yorkshire house when you moved. I hope you are enjoying your new house although it sounds as though there has been a lot of work.
We are house hunting on Thursday, but not a big choice for sale in the area I want.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hubby usually likes to make the rough puff pastry Obelixxx, but this time he used frozen commercial sheets for speed. My arms are ok, Dove, just very unsightly. Not itchy.
We woke to three black cows munching in our garden this morning. Since we don’t have livestock any more, Hubby rang next door and asked if they were missing three cows. He arrived at speed in a strange vehicle that looked like a cross between a Jeep and a ride-on mower. Couldn’t catch the wily trio who shot up the hill into our bushland. 😁😃😃
He left with a plan to go through his place to try to get them from there. Wish him good luck. We are off to town for our weekly shop. Wednesday is town day for us.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ it’s a lovely morning ... not a great night as my shoulder was painful again ... well to be more accurate it was more my shoulder blade ... I just couldn’t get comfy 🙄 I’m sure it’ll ease during the day ... 🤞

Morning all/afties Pat. So- a few steaks for you too perhaps.... Those pies looked good. Could have done with one for my dinner last night, although I don't like lamb, so maybe not. Hope the scratches are better today. Just waiting for the rain to go off a bit, to go out for a hurl round. At least the new clems have had a good watering in. One still to plant, but I'll need to remove a couple of things in the border first. Nothing important though. Good stuff @punkdoc. Takes your mind off things a bit too. Hope Moira enjoys it.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

And from what I’ve found that wine sounds right up my street http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/haut-pecharmant/ ... the sort of thing I used to drink with a late dear friend ... he’d have loved it.
night night all ... sleep tight
