Very sensible thing to do @Klink.

It is all about clearing cookies @Klink.    If you have something like McAfee protection you should be fine and not need to clear them every time.

Had a zoom meeting this morning with my daughter, I could see her but she couldn't see me, it seems the camera had uninstalled itself? I don't understand these things! OH and I have been fiddling and updated software but now the light on the (inbuilt) camera won't go off. Googling seems to say this might be a malware problem, any ideas? This happened after I had a video chat with the GP about a week ago, could their system they use have caused it? Grrr.

Surely that simple problem could have been dealt with over the phone @KT53? Quick conversation and a check of the notes, prescription submitted to a chemist/pharmacist. Job done. Utterly ludicrous.

That is exactly what she was trying to do when she called the surgery.  The person who called her back from the surgery was having none of it.  Just repeated "You have to call 111"  "Computer says no" conversation.

@KT53, I would complain in writing to her GP and outline what happened and how ridiculous it all was and what a waste of NHS resources. Perhaps he/she would then have a word with the admin staff.

Really dreadful @KT53. I think @Lizzie27 is right - a complaint would be a good idea.
That isn't an acceptable response to the call.
I think people are often afraid to make complaints, but if a surgery doesn't know there are problems with staff members, nothing changes.  :/

Have you done a full virus scan to check? AVG gets my vote for free anti-virus software and Malwarebytes was recommended by our IT people as belt and braces to pick up any malware that normal anti-virus can miss.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

@Wild edges I have Norton anti-virus and OH has AVG which he thinks does better scans - I don't know. when I turned on this morning it was creating a restore panel, so presumably something had been detected?  I am still running windows 7 which is obviously a problem - laptop won't install windows 10. No light has come on the webcam so that's good.
It's only Autumn until later in the week.  B)

Driving on the M5 earlier and two HGVs were side by side in lanes 1 and 2 for over 5 miles, leaving only one lane available for other traffic wishing to travel at normal motorway speed.  I know it was at least that distance as I was in no hurry so just sat in behind them to see how things developed.  One edged ahead on any uphill grades and the other on the downhills.  At no time was the one in the middle lane far enough forward to pull in to lane 1.  Stupid!
